Zoe saw Adam come walking towards her as she sat at the bench that was seated between two blossom in a park, the same park she had run off to when her and Joel got into that fight, crazy to think how long ago it was, seemed like only yesterday.... Adam sat down next to her.
"This is the park Mom would always take me to whenever she wanted to calm down after her and Dad fought... She'd always get me to put my coat on and we were out the door, to this very park, no matter the time, one day, she left without me, and didn't come home, if I had went with her, I would probably be dead too, but, Dad wasn't there to make her leave, something had set her off, sending her off..." Zoe spoke softly, a tear fell down her cheek, Adam kept silent, Zoe didn't keep her gaze off the green grass that was cut surprisingly short. "Dad came home late that night, I had asked when Mom was coming home and where she was, he simply said she was out and won't be home until late, he sent me upstairs to my room. That is when my life went downhill." She sighed, inhaling a deep breath. "I had answered the door early that morning while getting ready for school, I thought Mom would be home by now, it was the police, they told me that my Mom, my whole entire world, wouldn't be home anymore, that she was dead. My Dad had come out by now, his face was pale and full of guilt, they wanted to take him for questioning, they suggested that I come along, but Dad got angry at them, telling them that my education was more important... More important than grieving over a sudden death of my Mother. That was the day I met you. " she smiled, looking up at Adam. "You were our new English teacher, you thought I was strange because I never talked besides a plain yes or no." She laughed quietly, Adam wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
This was the first time she has ever spoken about this.... Adam was surprised, she was finally opening up to him, something she hasn't done in so long.
"Zoe, why did you call Neil earlier? What happened?" Adam asked, Zoe stood up, smoothing out her shirt.
"I had a panic attack, but it's okay now, I just needed air to calm down." She lied... She couldn't tell Adam about the boy she saw.. "There's an assembly soon, I'm performing two songs, or did you forget?" Zoe spoke, Adam shook his head.
"No, we didn't forget, everyone is still coming. Are you sure you're okay?" Adam asked nervously. She nodded her head, a fear of thought sat at the back of her mind, she should never of come back to school....

"Now for out last act of the night, Miss Zoe Lambert!" Zoe's music teacher spoke proudly, the curtains Drew and Zoe stood, she had her guitar in her hand, nerves in her stomach... But they went away once her fingers played on the strings.
"This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us
It's time to make our move, I'm shaking off the rust
I've got my heart set on anywhere but here
I'm staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel...
And every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal
For the life I lead
Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah, I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're here not there
