EXT. ROOF TOP - NIGHT

IF I COULD FLY M.O. BY DALE HUNTER.

In the predawn darkness, the whispered words of AHMED,
SAMEH, AZHARA and SHABOUH linger, like the rooftop mice
scuttering at their feet to avoid the first shattering rays
of light breaking over the Kidron Valley.

They have been there all night, with the mice, and Azhara,
the youngest, shivers as she wraps an opulent woven quilt
tightly beneath her chin. They are an unlikely looking
troupe, but in the bustle of Jerusalem's whole populace they
blend in unnoticed.

Israel has gathered for the Coronation of a new King but
these four have not come to see him crowned, no, these have
come in search of a legend. The Gem of Paran.

Ahmed and Sameh, peering intently over the stone ledge, talk
quietly together. Unknowns to them, Azhara has awoke from
her restless slumber and tired of being ignored she arises
and, dragging her blanket with her, joins them at the short
stone wall surrounding the roof they have rented for the
night.

Towering above them all, Shabouh, the dark skinned Egyptian
bodyguard silently takes his place behind them, excellent in
his endowment, indebted by honor to Ahmed's family for life.
