INT. THE KING'S PALACE - DAY

WINDS OF CHANGE M.O. BY DALE HUNTER

Solomon arrives at the palace after another tumultuous day
spent with Temira. Bathsheba and Jonathon meet him in the
great room and he finds that his worst fear has come to
pass. His father is dead. Solomon is crushed.

JONATHON
(angrily)
While you have been traipsing
around the countryside with that
common girl, your father has been
wasting away, waiting for you to
assume your responsibilities and
having your servants do your work
for you! What have you to say for
yourself!

SOLOMON
(painfully)
Surely there is an end to your
tormenting Jonathon. My father
was never wasting away, he was
full of life, and you will not
make this an unholy thing!

BATHSHEBA
(harshly)
Jonathon! This will get nowhere!
We are all devastated, but my
son's personal life has nothing to
do with it! Please be excused.

JONATHON
(bowing with a
hard look at
Solomon)
As you wish.

Jonathon leaves the room.

EXT. JERUSALEM - DAY

TZEFAN (VO)
(narration)

Now David, the son of Jesse had reigned over all Israel, and
the period which he reigned was forty years. Then he died
in a ripe old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and his
son Solomon reigned in his place. With the Kings death,
Israel has gone into mourning and Solomon is officially
crowned again in a private ceremony.

INT. JONATHONS QUARTERS - NIGHT

JONATHON
(irately)
His liaisons with the Shulamite
girl have gone on long enough. He
is spending more and more time
away from the palace, and
Bathsheba is concerned. Her worry
is starting to take a toll on her.
You must do something quickly.

MIKLOTH
Master we have tried. There is
barely a time when we can find her
alone.

JONATHON
(sarcastically)
What do you mean.

MIKLOTH
If Solomon is not with her, she is
with that young herdsman, or her
mother.

JONATHON
That is ridiculous. Do something
or I shall take care of it myself
and I can promise I won't be as
(MORE)

JONATHON (cont'd)
merciful as you. Do something
with that boy too if you must but,
see that you finish it.
