EXT. OLIVE TREE ORCHARD - DAY

Having had enough excitement for one day, Micah, Kestor,
Ami-el and even Tzefan decide to return to the solitude of
the fields. They walk along in the late afternoon sunlit
orchards of olive and pomegranate, talking.

MICAH
When Solomon takes the throne, he
will soon begin to appoint his new
staff.

TZEFAN
(brow furrowed)
New staff? Will he change
everything?

MICAH
Don't worry. Everyone will have a
fair chance. King David said it
himself.

TZEFAN
That's what concerns me.

MICAH
(squinting eyes)
Why? Don't you think you'd have a
chance?

Their discussion is interrupted by a loud shout. Turning
around, they are suddenly joined by Temira who has been
running to catch up with them. They allow her to catch her
breath. Tzefan tries not to look so happy to see her.

TEMIRA
(panting)
Thank goodness I found you! Are
you going back to the fields?

They all nod at once. Micah takes her arm.

MICAH
Walk with us.

TZEFAN
(sarcastically)
Her brothers will kill her, or
possibly, us.

MICAH
(chuckles lovingly)
They'll kill no one.

KESTOR
We have known them since Temira
was a babe.

AMI-EL
We bounced her on our knee.

Temira blushes.

MICAH
We spoiled her shamefully while
her mama worked in the days after
her papa died.

They continue walking, reaching the edge of the orchard and
moving out from the city down the hill and into the
countryside.

TEMIRA
Which only managed to make my
brothers very angry with me.

MICAH
You were just too much trouble for
them.

TEMIRA
(snorting)
Humph! They just didn't want to
be babysitters.

MICAH
(laughingly)
They still don't! They need a
babysitter themselves.
