EXT. HILLSIDE - DAY

Tzefan , napping soundly in the shade of a hillside cleft in the rocks, is awakened rudely to the sound of hushed talking.

RAVEED
You cannot just "buy" a person
Jehdeiah.

JEHDEIAH
(threatenly)
You can. Or you might just
happen to lose someone,
accidently.

Tzefan lies frozen in unbelief as he listens to the unfolding conversation.

JEHDEIAH
She is a nuisance to you and your
brothers, and the truth is, she
will be so much better off. A
girl like Temira takes a strong
hand. Who will marry a girl like
that? Have you any prospects?

RAVEED
I haven't even thought about it.

JEHDEIAH
(snidely)
All things you should have planned
for long ago. But it's not too
late, I have a good-sized dowry I
am willing to offer.

RAVEED
(shrugging)
Since you put it like that.

JEHDEIAH
(sugary sweet)
Of course, and all your troubles
will be over.

RAVEED
(squinting one eye)
How much are you willing to offer?

Jehdeiah places an arm around Raveeds shoulder.

JEHDEIAH
Let us discuss that privately in
my quarters. Tomorrow.

RAVEED
Very well, we will be there.

JEHDEIAH
(annoyed)
No, no, no. Come alone. Your
brothers will only slow down the
process.

Jehdeiah and Raveed separate.

EXT. TZEFAN HILLSIDE - DAY

Tzefan's heart is beating so hard he can barely breath. He struggles just to wait long enough not to be caught, before
crawling out of his cool grotto. Seeing the coast is clear he makes a mad dash for the camp.
