EXT:SHEPHERDS FIELD - DAY

In a panoramic scene, as Tzefan and the Shulamite girl walk,
the other groups of herd keepers fall into step behind from
all directions all heading for the fields.

TZEFAN (vo)
(narration)

In the days of King David, before
his son Solomon would be crowned,
a decree went out to all the
people of Judah saying..."It has
become known in the City of David,
our God has chosen Solomon to
inherit the throne of the Kingdom
and to build our God a House..."
Now, in the courts of the King
were a great many people who
served him. He was a King who
loved his God and because of his
love and obedience God gave him
favor in all the land. And so it
was, but we were not worried, for
the King's son had
his father's concern to be fair to
all the people of his Kingdom.
David of Israel is his name, and
I, am the keeper of the King's
royal donkeys.

IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME M.O. CHORUS

EXT. HEBRON VALLEY - NIGHT

Various small fires dot the hillside where the herdsmen and
shepherds have retired to watch over their flocks at night.
Asef, Raveed, Nuri and Japhet are hiding behind a bush. They
are watching Tzefan, waiting for a donkey to graze close to
them. Soon, a donkey stands by the bush. Raveed reaches
blindly through the bush and grabs its tail. Raveed ties a
large cow bell to its tail as Nuri brushes around on the
ground searching for a good-sized pebble. Nuri gets a
sticker in his finger and yelps. Raveed smacks him.

RAVEED
(hissing)
Ssshhh! You idiot! He'll hear us!

NURI
(hissing back)
So, I got a sticker!

Raveed rolls eyes and shakes his head.

JAPHET
(nervously)

Just hurry up! If Jehdeiah
catches us he'll ring our bell!

ASEF
(quietly gritting
teeth)
I... will handle... Jehdeiah, just
do it.

EXT. NURI BEHIND BUSH - NIGHT

Nuri finds a big pebble and throws it hitting the donkey
right on the rump.

EXT. DONKEY BUCKING - NIGHT

The donkey BRAYS loudly, bucks wildly, swinging his tail
which RINGS the bell, spooking the whole herd. All the
donkeys bolt in different directions.

EXT. TEMIRA CAMPFIRE - NIGHT

From where she is watching over her goats, TEMIRA, the
Shulamite girl hears the commotion. She drops her staff
and runs past the other shepherdesses to help Tzefan.

EXT. BEHIND BUSH - NIGHT

Raveed, Nuri, Japhet and Asef laugh wildly, rolling on the
ground. They look up periodically to continue enjoying the
prank.

A donkey bolts right for Tzefan, running through his small
fire, knocking him down, extinguishing the fire and his only
light. Darkness overtakes him.

EXT. TZEFAN IN DARKNESS - NIGHT

TZEFAN
(gasps loudly)

The sounds of FRENZIED SCRAMBLING, LABORED BREATH, TANGLED
CLOAKS RUSTLING on the ground.

EXT. BEHIND BUSH - NIGHT

Nuri, Raveed, Japhet and Asef laugh louder.
A donkey rushes at them. Their eyes bug out and they grapple to get out of
the way, grabbing each other for help as they intermittently

fall, rolling down a hill and run away into the moonlit
night.
