"Hello? Earth to Kianna?" napakurap-kurap ako when I saw Kennedy's hand waving before my face.

"What you were saying, Ken?" tanong ko muli sakanya. 

Napapantastikuhang tiningnan ako ni Kennedy. Mukhang kanina pa siya salita ng salita at ngunit ni isang salita man lang na pinagsasabi niya ay wala akong matandaan.

"I was just asking you if you have anything to wear sa royal ball. Masquerade daw kasi 'yung theme ng ball eh." sabi niya saakin.

Napahinto naman ako at napatitig sakanya. "They already announced it?"

Tumango siya. "Yes, just this morning. I was about to wake you up inside your dorm pero nakita ko ang grupo ng Schatten sa labas ng dorm niyo kaya hindi na ako tumuloy." mahabang paliwanag niya.

Hindi naman ako nakaimik agad. What Kennedy is trying to say is that the Schatten is outside my dorm? Maybe because El Rey was inside the dorm with me at that time.

Mataas-taas din ang oras na tinulog ni Caspian. Maghahapon na ng magising siya and he even apologized that he fell asleep!

"Tsaka nga pala K, one subject lang 'yung papasok sa atin ngayong gabi.  Eventhough it's only one sub, it will eventually occupy the time of the other two subjects. So parang patas lang din." pagsisingit ni Emma sa usapan namin ni Kennedy.

We are outside right now, sa isang mini garden ng university. It's almost 6 pm kaya wala ng masyadong nilalang dito ngayon dahil nasa cafeteria na sila o baka naman nasa kanya-kanyang dorm na sila.

"Professor Lipscomb will be our only instructor for tonight. I heard from the other section that he is up to something different this night." sambit ni Kennedy na mukhang kuryuso talaga siyang malaman kung ano ang gagawin namin mamaya.

"I'm thrilled." bungisngis ni Emma sa gitna namin ni Ken.

Napailing naman ako sakanya. "Let's just get ready for his class guys." maikling saad ko nalang sakanila.

Pinagpagan ko ang jogging pants na suot ko bago kami bumalik sa dorm para makapaghanda sa klase ni Professor Lipscomb—our demonology subject.

I impatiently tapping my fingers onto the table. Nasa loob ng room na kami ngayon habang hinihintay si Professor Lipscomb. Hindi ko katabi sina Kennedy and Emma since I was seated at the last row of the class, it is because I enrolled late into this university that's why.

"A bloody evening to everyone!" isang malakas na bati ang bumuhay sa inaantok kong dugo.

Mabilis na nagsitayuan ang mga kaklase ko at bumati. "Good evening Professor Lipscomb." we all greeted.

Lumawak ang ngiti nito ng makita kami. "This is the class where I am excited to see how will you perform tonight's activity. Aside from the fact that this section has the most number of students in my subject, I can also see some gifted creatures attending this class tonight and I bet this activity makes you thrilled." humahalakhak siya sa dulo na tila napakagandang bagay na ang pagsubok na ibibigay niya saamin.

"I have five hours to be with you tonight royals. So I will spend 30 minutes of our time discussing the mechanics of our activity and your respective group." paninimula niya.

"I will divide you into 7 groups with 6 members each. The activity will be doing tonight is what I call a 'Hunting Night." malaki ang ngiti ni Professor Lipscomb habang nagsasalita. Ano bang ikinasasaya niya ng sobra?

Paminsan-minsan na nga lang pumasok 'tong Professor na 'to andami pang pa hidden-hidden surprise. Tsk. Actually, Professor Lipscomb is the main instructor of this subject but because he is so busy with something, the university gives him an assistant teacher who will teach us on his behalf.
