Chapter 22

"You can't keep this up forever, boys," Seth said, kicking the robot back.
Ryan winced then stood, running back at the monster. "You'd be surprised. Now, where is Reece?"
"Don't worry. Reece will live to see my new world. I would have let all of you join us, but you betrayed me. Once you're gone, nothing will be in my way," Seth said.
He snapped and had the two monsters gang up on the robot, walking off to work on destroying the world.
"If we're going to stop him, we better do it quickly. I'm not a genius, but he can do a lot of damage in the time it'll take us to deal with these two," Mark pointed out.
"I'm trying to take them out, but these weapons aren't doing the trick," Spyder said, mashing buttons frantically.
The two monsters were getting punch after punch in. Ryan tried to block them with help from Harris, but it was a lot.
"Guys, if this is the end, it's been an honor," Harris said.
Ryan's eyes widened. "Brace yourselves!"
A monster was about to throw a makeshift spear he got from the city they were destroying. They could have dodged if the other monster didn't have them pinned down.
"I don't know if we can take that!" Mark exclaimed, holding on to the railing tightly.
"Hang on!" Harris said, putting up the shields.
Mech-X4 punched the monster back, causing it to miss the robot. Ryan had the prototype robot push the other monster back.
"I told you I'd deliver! Ryan, this is asking a lot, but you have to control both robots with your powers. We'll keep a channel open. Kayla will handle weapons, Reece will take defense, and I'll handle repairs. With two robots, we can win this!" Leo said, connecting the robots' communications manually.
"I don't know if I can do this," Ryan said. "What if-?"
"Ryan, there's no time for what ifs!" Mark said. "Get your head in the game, dingus. We're all that stands between the world and its destruction."
Ryan took a deep breath. "Right... Connecting now- wait, Reece?"
Reece smiled. "Hi Ryan! I'm glad you're okay. We came as fast as we could. Now, come on... We can do this!"
"We have to," Harris agreed.
"Alright then... Mechs, execute!" Ryan said.
Ryan took a deep breath and focused on controlling the robots.
"I need plasma punch, Kayla!" Ryan said.
"On it!" Kayla replied, hitting the button.
Mech-X4 used plasma punch on one of the monsters, destroying it.
"Spyder, plasma cannon!" Ryan said.
"Now we're talking!" Spyder grinned, hitting the button.
Reece threw up the shields as the remaining monster focused on Mech-X4.
"Hey! Get away from them!" Ryan said, sending a blast toward the monster.
The blast hit, getting the monster's attention. The monster turned its back to Mech-X4 and advanced toward the prototype.
"Kayla, plasma axe!" Ryan said.
Kayla quickly hit the button.
Ryan controlled Mech-X4 and sliced the monster in half while it was distracted.
"Yes!" Leo cheered. "Perfect, Ryan!"
Harris threw up the shields as Seth's monster attacked the prototype. "It's not over yet!"
"Whoa, where'd he come from?!" Spyder exclaimed, sending missles toward Seth's monster.
"I didn't expect this... Two robots? Not bad, Leo. And Ryan, I didn't think you had it in you. No matter. This changes nothing. I will win," Seth said, unphased.
"Bring it!" Ryan said. "Everyone, one more monster, and we're done!"
Everyone cheered then focused on their tasks as the fight began.
