Falling For You

Chapter 8

I was getting ready for the business dinner. I was frustrated. I wanted to talk with Kyra. But then, I had no option. I remembered how she took care of me when I woke up due to the thundering and stayed by my side till the time I woke up. I know I can be a bit tacky sometime, but she was happy to be with me in this situation too. I know she is the one for me, ever since I laid my eyes on her. I got out of my room ready to leave. Kyra was sitting on the sofa watching something. She noticed me and looked at me. She zoned out while looking at me, so I went near her and hugged her. Her cologne hit my nostrils, giving me satisfaction and comfort. 

I pecked her forehead and ran out of the room. I went to the venue and attended the dinner. It took much more time than I thought I would take. As it was a business dinner, many businessmen were there including Anand uncle, Kyra's father. I was about to leave when I offered to drop him. I was glad he joined me. On our way back he said, "Look Aayush, I know you are an amazing guy but if you break my daughters heart I will be the worst person you see." I panicked and said, "Uncle don't worry, I will take care of her. She is way to precious for me. And why would I hurt the person who I love?" 

He almost screamed, "You both love each other huh?", I said while trying to clear the misunderstanding, "I meant, I love her and I think she also loves me but it's complicated cause everything happened too fast. I'm sorry." He laughed and said that my parents had told her parents that I liked her and he was just pulling me leg. I drove off to his place when he said, "Well, take care of her. She is very careless, so we didn't allow her to stay alone. She doesn't care one bit about herself, overworks and then eventually falls sick and still she wants to be the best. Just make sure she has her meals on time and doesn't overwork and comfort her when she is at her lowest. And be ware of her when she is on her periods, she becomes an angry bird. And she loves Mint Chocolate Ice-cream.", he ended it while laughing. I smiled at him and said, "Thanks uncle, I will take good care of her.

I drove off after he went inside and decided to get some white chocolates, which Kyra told me were her favorite. I opened the door with the passcode of her house and was welcomed by a dark living room with the tv still on. I switched on a light and found Kyra sleeping on the couch like a bay. Her cheeks pressed on the pillow of the sofa and her hair open, covered with the hood of the hoodie she wore. She looked very cute. I clicked her pic on my phone and decided to wake her up but then, she opened her eyes after scrunching them trying to get away from the light which I had just put on. She got up and sat on the sofa creating some space for me to sit. I sat down besides her. She said in her sleepy voice, "Hey! When did you return?" I replied that I had just got back as I went to the kitchen to drink water. I came back and saw her picking up the wrappers of some chips which she had eaten and threw them in the bin. 

"What did you have for dinner?" ,I asked her hoping she had eaten something. "Nothing, I has some snacks and umm, some instant noodles." , she said and quickly cleaned the living room. I ran behind her who was going to her room and asked just when she was about to enter, "Umm Kyra, I wanted to ask, I know it's weird, but would you like to talk right now? I want to tell you something." She looked at me and told me she would wait for me in the living room, till I would get changed. Soon I got back in my comfort clothes and went downstairs to see her who was scrolling on her phone. 

"Hey, so basically I met your father today and dropped him home. He told me that you tend to skip your meals or overwork yourself. I want you to promise me that you won't ever do it. I don't want you to get sick or something. Don't go too hard on yourself. It's okay to relax back sometimes. I don't know what makes you look down upon yourself, but I want you to know that you are the best and you don't have to prove anything to anyone." , I said while looking at her. 

She said, "I was 15 when it all started. People used to bully me. Why? Because I was very studious, and didn't have any friends. I was that one lonely student till I went out for graduation. I drowned my self in studying and focused on achieving my dreams. I neglected myself so much, that I passed out during my group study in college after than no one allowed me to stay alone. That's also a reason that I used to stay here for a week and another with my parents as they were very worried about me. When they got to know that I was accepted as an employee in your company, they asked Obi uncle to keep an eye on me and he too never failed to take care of me. Of course no one on the office know that I know you all personally, nor do I want them to know." ,she ended her sentence with a nervous laugh.

I smiled at her and said, "You are the best and you need to take care of yourself, and if you don't I will force you to do so. But for now, are you interested in having some yum white chocolate?" I showed her the bag which had chocolates to which she nodded a yes with starry yes, something that never failed to give me butterflies in my stomach. I smiled and pulled our a bar of chocolate. She had her chocolate, while I was scrolling on my phone. There was silence between us, which was comfortable, devoid of any tension. 

"Aayu, I'm sleepy. Can I go to bed? Just call me of you need anything, okay?" ,she asked me in a sleepy voice. I nodded a okay and told her I would be working in my room for some time. We went upstairs, just as she was about to enter her room, I held her by her wrist and pulled her in a hug and whispered a good night in her ears. I kissed her forehead, to which she smiled softly and whispered a goodnight to me and went in her room. I went to my room and started working. I worked for sometime and went to bed.
