Chapter 17

Aayushman

I fell asleep on Kyra's chest but was woken up with her snuggled up on my chest. She looked very adorable and peaceful. I was staring at her when she opened her eyes and smiled at me. She snuggled in more and I laughed and hugged her. There was silence between us, which were enjoying in each other's embrace. I kissed her head and inhaled deeply. I released my breath and took my phone from the bedside table and checked the clock. "Kyra, get up love, we have to go to work.", I said in an attempt to wake her up. She got up and looked at me and pecked my cheeks and forehead. 

She got ready, while I went to the other room to get ready for work. I came back to her room to check if she was ready. She was in her work clothes, finishing her outfit finally before heading out. She was very focused on the mirror that she forgot to notice me. I went behind and hugged her from the back. She smiled while looking at me through the mirror while I kept my chin on her shoulder. I brought her hair behind her shoulder and left a peck on her neck and kept her back where they were. She was smiling brightly while I did the same. She looked at me in my eyes and said, "You are looking very handsome. Istg, if anyone tries to even lay their eyes over you, I'm going to make sure no one sees daylight again." I laughed and said, "It won't always be about me, you are looking very beautiful right now and I'll make sure no man lays their eyes on what's mine. But umm, I have a query, why don't anyone know you are the daughter of the Malhotras and the Chairwoman of the Clem-." 

I was about to ask her but then she said, "How about I tell you while having a cup of coffee?" I nodded a okay, while she went to the dressing table to get ready. I noticed that she had become a little upset after me asking it, which was asking me more curious, but I decided to stay quiet as I wanted her to tell it to me and be comfortable in sharing things with me. We got ready and went down to have our morning coffee together, something we have together no matter what happens. I was sitting on the chair while scrolling on my phone. 

She coughed a little and said, "Aayu, it's totally weird, I agree and it makes no sense, but it's concerning my grandparents. They were against my aunt marrying a non-Indian. Apparently, mom told me, that my grandparents stopped having a relationship with her and asked my mother to cut ties with her too. My mother although was in touch with my masi as they loved each other. My parents were unlike my grandparents and were open-minded and allowed all of us to be in contact. They are amazing people. No matter what happened, my grandparents didn't accept them. So, I didn't reveal myself as the chairwoman of the Clementine Industries to avoid a disaster. I'm scared of what's going to happen at our wedding. But umm, I don't want to think about that at this point. And as for not revealing that I'm the elder daughter of the Malhotra's, it's because I didn't want to. Nor did Kiara. SO probably later on, once we get married or something. I'm not a fan of attention."

I looked at her and said, "Honey you are amazing. Thanks for trusting me and telling it to me." She nodded a no and said, "No Aayu, I should be telling you this. We are going to get married and we need to be open about it. Let's promise? No more secrets among us?" I nodded a yes and pulled her in a hug. She pulled out after a few minutes and started to text on her phone, totally ignoring me who wanted her attention. I called her name few times but got no reaction from her. I sighed and went behind her and told, "Stop texting and give me attention." She said, "Give me a minute, I'm texting something to Eloise about some work." She texted for another two minutes and then looked at me and asked, "Do you like dogs and babies?" I nodded a yes and she said with puppy eyes, "Let's go to work early, let's get off by 4, I will take you somewhere. Pretty please?"  

I rolled my eyes playfully and said, "Stop giving me those puppy eyes. I'll be ready by 4. But before that, I want to review the final papers from the Clementine Industries to be signed." "okay boss" ,she replied and started to get her car keys. We headed down to the basement to pick our cars. She went in some other direction than what she would usually, which confused me. I was about to get into my car, but then she came with an Aston Martin DB11. I mouth flung open in awe. I had one too to but she just looked like a true lady boss in it. Totally giving off businesswoman vibes, and I was loving it. Call me a simp, but I have fallen for her hard. 

She opened the door and said, "You okay Aayu?" "Ma'am are you going to work in that?" ,I asked her and she nodded a yes and continued, "I haven't taken my baby out in almost a month. I feel bad for her." I asked, "Well love, I am okay with it, but won't it get too much attention in the office basement?" "I am parking it in the Clementine Industries office building here and then coming at the office while walking." I nodded but i had another question, "But honey, if you already have such a successful business, why are you still working here?" "Because I  am a lawyer. And it was an accidently successful business. And I will be resignign soon from your company and going to work in my company because my contract will  and I can help Eloise in a complete way to handle it. I feel bad as she is handling the business all alone majority of the times. Anyways, we are getting late. Let's leave? You wanna hop in? or u wanna drive from your car?" , she said while I understood what she meant. I opened the door and got into the passenger seat. 

We drove off to the office. She dropped me and I told her to park her car in my parking, where no one was allowed to park. We went inside from the private elevator opening directly into my cabin, to see Abhi already sitting and working. He grinned at us and came at us and hugged both of us. "You know right you both look perfect together." ,he said happily. I squinted my eyes and said, "You seem to be happy so I think that means-,", Kyra cut me off and said ,"Eloise accepted your proposal." He grinned at us getting all shy. I squealed softly and  hugged him tightly. I ruffled his hair which made him irritated and pull out of the hug. He then went to Kya and hugged her and said, "You truly are the best bhabi in the world. I'm so happy you know. Thanks for guiding me yesterday." 

She laughed and ruffled his hair to which he just laughed off. I scoffed at him and told him to f*ck off. He just smirked at me and said, "Come on she is matchmaker and my partner in crime. Aren't you?" He looked at Kyra who just smirked back at him and gave him a hi-fi and said a yes. I scoffed again and told them to get back to work. Kyra went to her cabin swiftly as there were a very few people in the building. I sat back on my chair, I received a message from Kyra which said, 'See you at 4 love. I'll be there by 3:55. Love ya loads.' I smiled to mysels after replying that I loved her. 

It was about 3:30 pm, when I was impatiently waiting for the clock to turn 3:55 and see Kyra. I wasn't able to see her the entire day. She had apparently buried herself in framing the final contract agreement, while I had just finished with work. Abhi had called for a half day as he was way too tired. I was all alone in my cabin. After what I assumed to be 15 minutes, I heard a knock on the cabin door and I opened it for them to enter. Kyra came looking all ready with her laptop bag and the final contract file. "Here you go sir, the final copy is here. Should I send it to them?" ,she said and gave the file to me. "Sit down till the time I go through it.", I said and she sat down on the chair in front of me.

Her phone was getting spammed, which she resisted from checking. "Check your phone, it may be important." ,I said with a small chuckle. She took her phone out and texted someone with a huge smile on her face. She closed her phone and looked at me for a few seconds while I read the file and went back to texting. She had a small smile on her face once she was doen and was waiting for me to approve her work. I looked up at her once I was done, "Good job Mrs. Oberoi." She blushed after hearing me call her by my surname. I loved to tease her. She looked at me and said a thank you and waited for me to sign it. She signed it later on as the Chairwoman of the CI. I hugged her tightly and we went down from my private elevator to the basement. She got into her car and waited for me to get in. I got in and we dashed somewhere.
