Time went by at a snail's pace, so agonizingly slow. The minutes became hours, and uncomfortably so. Sarah wrapped her coat tightly around her shoulders as she walked alone, passing by the rides with a pained sigh. The sky quickly became gray and overcast, causing an uncomfortable silence to wash over the ranch.

Michael hadn't come back, and she respected that. She respected the need for space, all while willing to listen when the time was right.

"I'll go for sole rights."

She recalled those words, what exactly was he talking about? Whoever it was on the other line remained a mystery for the time being, and truth be told, it was tearing her apart with concern.

Coming upon the carousel, the operator allowed her on with a friendly smile and nod. Sarah returned the smile with one of her own, climbing onto a tiger, fingers wrapped tight around the pole. As the ride began to move the landscape came to life around her despite the cloudy skies.

The ranch came to life as the carousel went round and round, even under the gray skies it held a beauty unlike any other.

She sighed, leaning against the ride.

Her heart soon leapt into her throat as Michael approached, waving in an almost shy manner. He stood patiently as the ride finished and came to a stop. Sarah all but jumped from the ride, running straight into Michael's open arms.

Michael chuckled and held her tight, spinning her around for a moment. Their lips met in a kiss so warm and tender.

"I'm so sorry, I just needed to think."

"No, please don't worry," Sarah sighed. "I don't care how long it takes, just know I'm here to listen when you are ready."

"Sarah, I hurt you–"

"No, I'm fine. I really am."

"You sure?"

"Positive," she affirmed with another kiss.

Together hand in hand they walked through the quiet grounds, taking in the beauty of the land together. Michael led her to the zoo, where the animals began walking towards him cheerfully.

"Hey, Louie," Michael smiled, petting the llama's head gently. "I want you to meet my lady, this is Sarah."

She giggled and smiled as he introduced her to his animals. It was beautiful and bittersweet. "Hi, Louie."

"He doesn't bite, he spits sometimes, but never bites."

Louie proceeded to spit on Michael's shoulder, bringing about fits of laughter from each of them.

"Hey now!" Michael laughed. "You didn't need to do that now, show off!"

Sarah smiled, "He's so adorable."

"A huge show off, though," Michael sighed, looking at his shoulder dismally, brushing himself off. "He's a schmuck sometimes."

"He's handsome, I've never met a llama before."

Michael raised an eyebrow. "Ever met an elephant?"

When Sarah shook her head, Michael's hand wrapped around hers, leading the way towards where the majestic beasts were roaming freely.

"Oh, my Lord!"

"This is Gypsy. Elizabeth Taylor gave her to me."

Gypsy lifted her trunk in gentle greeting, extending towards Sarah. She was taken aback but patted her gently. And Gypsy tooted in response.
