KINN POV:-

I was on a warpath, and everyone gave me wide berth as I stalked down the hall towards the elevators. My new assistant, who I hired after firing the congressman's insipid daughter for leaking my cell number to the Gruppmann CEO. Pretend to be on the phone when I passed, and the rest of the staff kept their eyes glued to their computer screens like their lives depended on it.
I didn't blamed them. I have been biting people's heads off left and right the past week.
Incompetent, every single of them
I refused to entertain any other reason, I had been so cranky since my birthday, especially if that "other reason" happened to be five five with black hairs and lips that tasted sweeter then sin.
I ignored the two people who scrambled off the elevator when they saw me enter, and jabbed the button for the lobby
That fucking kiss, i had tattooed itself onto my mind and I found myself thinking about it about the way bible tasted and fell in my arms far more then I should, thanks to the "gift" of my memory,I relieved those few minutes in my kitchen like they were real every night in the shower.
I hadn't heard about bible since that night, he had skipped out swimming prep session this week and I didn't Heard from him directly. Jeff was the one who texted saying that bible was busy
His absence chafed more then I cared to admit
I got into my car and deliberated. I tapped my fingers against the steering wheel, torn, before I finally gritted my teeth and set the GPS for his gallery.
19 minutes later, I strode into the gallery, my eyes fitting over the pale wood floors, the framed prints hanging on the stark white walls and the half dozen well dressed patrons wandering the space before I zeroed on the brunette behind the corner.
Bible rang up a customer, his face animated and his smile bright as he said something that caused the woman to smile in return, he had a knack for doing that, bringing up the joy in others.
He hadn't noticed me yet, and for a while, I simply watched him, letting his light creep into the shadowed corners of my soul
Once the customer left,I walked over
Bible looked up with a polite, professional smile and that wilted the second he saw me, he swallowed hard
"Hi" he sounded wary
"Here" I placed a brand new phone, the latest model, which wasn't available on the market yet and cost me several bhats, on the counter
His brow knit in confusion
"Your current phone is clearly broken since I haven't received so much of a text from you in past few days" I said icily
The confusion lingered for a beat before it melted into a teasing expression.
"You miss me?" He said
My hands curled around the edge of the corner "I do not"
"You showed up at my work and bought me a new phone because I didn't texted you for a few days"
His eyes gleamed with mischief
"I think that amounts to Missing me"
"You think wrong, I bought you the phone Incase you needed a new one for the emergencies"
"In that case" he pushed the box towards me "I don't need it, my phone works fine, I've been just busy"
I changed the subject
"Do you get sales commissions?"
I asked bible as my eyes got stuck to his manager who marched towards us, his paunch jiggling over his belt with each step
"Yes,why?"
"I would like to buy a piece from your gallery" I turned back to bible when his manager reached us
"The most expensive one you have"
His jaw dropped
"Kinn the most expensive one in this gallery is-"
"Perfect for your needs, I'm sure" his manager cut in
"Bible, why don't you show him the Richard Argus moonlight piece?"
Bible looked uneasy "but-"
"Now"
My smile cut across my face with the precision of a honed knife
"Careful with that tone sir, bible is your best employee, you wouldn't want to alienate him or any customers who value his opinion very highly, would you?"
He blinked, his eyes darting around as his tiny brain struggled to process the not so subtle threat behind my words
"No-no of course not"
He stuttered, I nodded and bible and I walked towards the art piece
While he showed me, he leaned in and hissed
"Kinn this piece costs 40,000"
"Really? Shit-"
"I am sure we can-"
"I thought it was expensive"
I allowed myself a soft laugh at his stunned expressions
"It's not a big deal, I'll own a new piece of art, you'll receive a hefty commission, and your manager will worship you till the end of the days, win win"
After 15 minutes, the print had been packed and my back account was 40,000 lighter
"This weekend, our usual time, ZV hotel"
I said to bible
His eyebrows shot up, we usually practiced at one of our houses or near a lake
"It has the best swimming pools In this city" I explained
"You're ready for the actual swimming lessons"
Bible sucked in a breath "really?"
"Yeah" I flashed a crooked smile
"See you Saturday, sunshine"
I called him by the nickname I gave him and then left the gallery in a remarkably better mood then when I had entered.
