Quick mention Eddie is asleep at the station because it was a 24 hour shift and everyone else was also sleeping but they aren't there.

Eddie pov

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing beside me.

I pick up my phone and look at the screen

               Carla

Accept              Decline

I press accept.

"Good morning Carla how are you?"

"Good morning Im good Eddie chris wanted to talk to you this morning so he asked me to call you."

I smile at the thought of hearing my sons voice.

"Dad?" Chris says through the phone.

"Good morning chris how are you?"

"Im ok what time are you coming home today?"

"I dont know bud ill be home to pick you up from school."

I hear chris cough through the phone.

"Ok ill see you later dad!" Chris calls out.

"Eddie he woke up coughing this morning I checked his temperature it was normal should i keep him home from school or do you still want me to send him to school?" Carla says

"Hey Carla. If Chris wants to stay home he can if he wants to go you can send him to school I'd probably keep him home because I wouldn't want to risk getting a call from the school asking us to come get him."

"Thanks Eddie ill call the school."

"Thank you Carla you're amazing!"

She hangs up the phone and I get out of the bed.

I grab my uniform and go to change in the bathroom.

The station is quiet. Too quiet.

I go upstairs.

When i get upstairs i see bobby cooking breakfast but no one else is around.

"Hey bobby? Where is everyone?" I ask

"I thought they were still asleep." Bobby replies looking up at me then looking back to his cooking after hes done talking.

I decide to go one my phone and text buck.

Me
Hey are you hen and chim at the station?

Buck
No we had some errands to run quick we'll be back in a bit.

"They're running some errands" i say to bobby

He just nods and continues cooking.

Bobby comes over and places a plate with 2 pancakes on it in front of me.

"Eat." He says.

Me and bobby talk while we eat and a little while later we hear footsteps coming up the stairs.

"Happy birthday!!" Hen chim and buck yell.

Buck places a small gift bag on the table "for you." He says

"Thanks guys but you really didn't have to get me anything."

"Just open it." Chimney says.

I open the bag and see a stack of party hats and a card.
