~Xora pov~

After getting home from work and taking a shower I started getting ready now it was 4:30 and I still needed to do my hair, do my makeup, and find an outfit I should get an outfit first

But I'm thirsty walking downstairs to grab water I saw Elijah's study door closed figuring he had a meeting I scurried upstairs since all I had on was a robe I grabbed a cup out of the top corner cabinet and poured some water; from the pitcher filled with ice water

After Making my way upstairs I went to our shared walk-in closet to find some accessories and shoes. After figuring that out I walked to my closet filled with all my dress clothes in the next room

After getting myself together it was around  huh 5:00 pm so I came downstairs and knocked on Eliajhs study no response opening the door to see him asleep it was quite cute I didn't wanna wake him so I backed out of the room but he woke up

Cursing at myself for ever walking in there "You look nice" he commented with a rasped voice " Thanks I didn't mean to wake you" he looked down at his watch "It's fine we need to leave anyways we're gonna be late" he chuckled

Bending over and grabbing my purse from off the couch and walking out. On the way there I studied Elijah's outfit he had on black chinos with a white button on, and a suit jacket over it paired with some black dress shoes and white socks. He looked good none the less I mean who could complain; after arriving at the restaurant with Elijah I saw only 6 including Are's

Normally this place is packed "Did you rent this place out?" Thinking out loud, of course, he rented it out dingus. " yep!" Getting out and walking around to open my door for me "Such a gentleman!" Giggling as I got out of the car "Follow me" he noted while holding out his hand and helping me out of the car

After making it inside, and walking towards the back of the very high-class and fancy restaurant was greeted by everyone Elijah's mother, never met her...guess I'm starting today...Matt was here, the kool-aid twins Connor and Sam along with my mamma, and Leon and Nora along with her fiancé What up with everyone being here

I'm not complaining! But I wasn't ready for all this. " Hi, ms.Miller! It's so nice to meet you!" As she stood up to hug me " Finally good to meet you too sorry we couldn't meet sooner" apologizing for her absence "No it's fine I promise at least your here!" Saying hi to everyone else and finally sitting down 

I saw Elijah's leg shaking nervously don't get me wrong anxiety can suck but he's been like this all day long none stop shaking zoning out I put my hand on his thigh and gave it a little squeeze to reassure him that he was ok he quickly left his state of mind and smiled

~Elijah's pov~

I sat there scared out of my mind don't get me wrong I wanted to marry her I mean I loved her but was it wrong too marry her the month of Christmas? Leon kept shooting me smirks and winks he was in on it along with Sam and Connor, and Matt everyone else had no clue for good reason. The pale teal-colored velvet box sat in my pocket waiting to be opened I had said the words in my head a million times but I still felt like she wasn't gonna wanna marry me.. maybe I'm moving too fast should I just hold off on the ring

I'm my wonderland I felt Xora squeeze my leg and give me a warm smile feeling relieved as I watched her make conversation with mostly everyone around here. Once the waitress got there we ordered food and drinks getting are food and eating I could barely keep my food down the anxiety was consuming my mind. I finished up my food and the waitress took it to know it was just us talking and making small talk it was time.....it's now or never

~Xora pov~

"so how has it been living with him?" Elijah's mother asked "It's been great actually! Dodger is a real sweetheart" she chuckled at my joke "Everyone we should go outside to sit by the fire and drink they have a garden hangout they also have games out there too"  I gasped the most audible gasp I've ever done " oh my gosh yes please!" I practically shouted getting up to run to the garden everyone laughed when I got up

" oh my goodness they have charades I love charades let's play!" I grabbed the dry-erase board on one of those easel stands and we got into groups I was with Nora Elijah was with Leon and and then Connor and Ms.Milers were together and Levi was with Connor we were all in groups it's as me and Nora's turn " ok you better get this xo xo or your slow!" I gasped playfully acting offended "No I'm not you just can't draw!"

Rolling her eyes she started drawing a circle great what am I gonna do with a circle wait never mind it was a ring? " a ring?!" She nodded "But what does one do with a ring?" I thought in the back of my mind I thought to propose but I went with "Wear it?" She facepalmed "No!"  I hummed "Propose?..." she nodded Yessss "Oh you should've said som-" Then my mom pointed behind me I turned around and Elijah was on one knee "From the day I met you I couldn't stop thinking about you and even if I was a jerk too you when we first met I still meant well..."

" ever since I laid eyes on you I knew I wanted to marry you and someday start a family...so Xora Anneliese Maxwell will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" All the tears fell and I let them I didn't care about my makeup it felt like it was just me and him in the room 
I nodded frantically maybe a little too hard "You didn't need to ask!" His soft lips meeting mines I was an engaged woman! Pulling apart as my ears finally came back to their senses I heard everyone cheering and running and tackling me

And then the most gut-wrenching scream came from my mamma she had gotten a call during all of this celebrating "hijo e hija tu padre esta muerto el fue.....asesinado" (son and daughter your father is dead he was...assassinated) and that's when I almost collapsed into Elijah's arms heart racing blurry vision it was a shock but damn did it hurt leon was numb my mother on the floor cradling leon begging to the gods for him to come back to us he may have been terrible but that was still my dad I sat there letting it all happen people were speaking I heard nothing; I only saw blurry faces moving.....
