❝Just friends❞

Elodie had enough waiting.

So when she heard footsteps on her doorstep she practically jumped out of the bed and ran into her boyfriend's arms.

She covered his face with kisses, tangling her fingers in his perfect blonde hair. She lingered on his lips for a long time, deepening the kiss before breaking away to wrap her legs around his waist.

"Fuck, I missed you." said Cody, running his hands down her back all the way down. "You're so perfect." he murmured against her lips and within second kissed her hungrily.

She chuckled when his short beard tickled her skin, making shivers go down her spine. Slowly, she stepped on the ground not letting go of him and staying between his arms.

Cody kissed her head, breaking the hug and going into the kitchen to make himself some breakfast. He made her a cup of coffee and started talking about the work. She listened to him halfway, unable to take her eyes off his handsome face that she dreamed of at night.

"Are you listening?"

"Wha- yes, yes I'm all ears." she stated dreamily, staring into his blue eyes. "Keep going."

He chuckled and took her hands in his kissing her knuckles. At that moment, a big golden retriever entered the kitchen and quickly sat right by Cody's side.

"Hey buddy!" he greeted him, stroking his head and patting his back. " I missed you too. Were you a good boy while I was gone?"

Sunny barked loudly, wagging his tail and jumping on his owner of excitment. Cody laughed and ruffled his hair with wide smile on his face.

The smile which she missed the most.

Their relationship was one of laughter and love, and each moment spent together was more wonderful than the last.

She would look into his eyes and see the depth of their love reflected back at them, and in those moments, their souls seemed to be woven together with an unconditional thread that could never be broken.

She truly believed that she had met the love of her life. Her light in the darkness. Her missing piece of soul.

So why did she have the irresistible feeling that the end of it all was getting closer?

"Someone's in a good mood today." she heard the playful tone of Julia, who had been watching her for a some time.

They were standing in the agency's small kitchen, exchanging the news. Elodie learned from her that several sicarios had been caught on the outskirts of Medellín which was a big help in the Escobar case.

Sadly, the men refused to talk, which put DEA against the wall again.

"Cody came back yesterday." she replied, sipping her coffee with smile. "So, I decided to greet him well in the morning."

She flashed back to this morning when she was getting ready for work, finding herself in the kitchen with her boyfriend. She greeted him with warm coffee and a short kiss, which quickly turned into something more, as she dragged him back to the bedroom, still having half an hour to go.

"I'm suprised you can still walk." Julia kicked her side and Elodie felt her cheeks burning up.

"We didn't do much." she admitted, tucking slightly behind her mug. "I was in hurry."
