Rotom Dex had been flying around collecting data since school ended. It had nothing better to do anyways.
What it was not expecting when it came back home was two Pikachus! It only knew one of them!
"Beep beep.. A Pikachu with lightning bolt marks on the cheeks.. beep.. scruffier fur.. beep.."
SNAP!
Rotom Dex takes a photo of the new Pikachu.
"Data updated!"
"Piii.."

(srry it took so long to post this, i was set on doing art of this part and i didn't like my first few attempts so i had to redo a few times lol)
It seems annoyed at the photo-taking, and goes back to eating with the familiar Pikachu..
"Oh, hello Rotom," The professor greets, "Where have you been?"
"I've collected some great data! I found a spot on Melemele where different Oricorio meet, resulting in an awesome find!"
"That's great!"
"Where's Ash? I must show him my discoveries!"
"Well... You see..." Kukui sweatdrops, "He's right here..."
"Beep beep... Does not compute, does not compute!"
"Hmm.. Ash, give Rotom-Dex a wave, would you?"
"Pika!"
The new Pikachu waves, a shit-eating grin on its face.
Rotom shows a confused face on its display.
"Does not compute. Does not compute."
"Pi!," it growled, "Pi pikacha! Pika pi chu pika pika chu pi!"
The ordinary Pikachu stopped eating briefly to join the arguing one's team.
"Pikachu!"
"Pi!!"
"Pi pika!"
"Does not co-"
"Ah, well, Rotom-Dex, Ash got himself into a little trouble and is now a Pikachu."
Both pikachu nodded, while Rotom is astounded.
"Professor, are you sure it's him? This could be a breakthrough discovery if so!!"
"Yes, I'm fully sure, he even typed onto the laptop to communicate with me."
"Woah! A human turning into a pokémon? Understanding pokémon language while maintaining knowledge of human language? Maintaining some human features while being a pokémon? This is an amazing discovery!"
Ashchu sighs as Rotom collects data on him. Twinkle quickly runs in to hide Sato in a protective manner until Rotom-Dex gets the point and stops taking pictures.
The Pikachu says something about it, and Satochu hugs him for it.
Rotom-Dex and the professor have no idea what Twinkle said, as is with the barrier between humans/machines made for humans and Pokémon.
Pokémon are able to learn to recognise human language, but mostly aren't able to speak it, there are a few exceptions. Humans can try learning Pokémon language, but no matter how hard they try, they will never truly understand Pokémon without direct translation, like Team Rocket's JJM unit has. For Satoshi and Pikachu, it was more their bond letting them communicate and not their words, at least before Satoshi became a Pikachu. So people can only guess, most of the time.
"You're really just a pair of best buddies, huh?"
"Chu!"
Twinkle hugs Sato-Chu back, Rotom rudely taking a picture of it.
"This is a memory to preserve!"
The two 'mons sigh, and go back to eating.
Later, after having watched today's Detective Laki episode and gotten ready for bed, they snuggled up to sleep, ready for a new day.
