Sumiko and Takashi were riding through the city, when they heard the sound of a jet. They both turned and saw a fighter jet flying beside them. One of the pilots waves at them, so Sumiko waves back with a big smile. "Takashi, the least you could do was wave back you know." Sumiko tells the boy. "Whether or not I wave, it doesn't change the fact that they're not coming to get us." Takashi replies. "Such a killjoy." The girl mumbles. Takashi presses on the brake hard, causing Sumiko to hold onto him tightly so she doesn't fall. "You're just saying that to bring down the mood!" Sumiko shouts, glaring at the back of his head. "They're no different from the helicopter saw from the school roof! Even if the self-defense force are on the move. They don't have time to save the likes of us. And probably won't for a while." He says, glaring back at the girl. "Then what do you suggest we do?" Sumiko asks.
"We'll do whatever we can." He replies. "You're always like this, Takashi. Whenever it's something important you're always a downer. You've been like this since kindergarten and even more so since Rei dumped you." Sumiko sighs. "How does that have anything to do with the crisis we're in now!?" Takashi shouts. Sumiko doesn't reply and Takashi looks at the bike seeing it low on fuel. "We can't ride forever. We'd better find a gas station." He comments. "There's one two lights ahead." Sumiko replies. And with that they ride off in search of said gas station. The town looked deserted as they drove through. "There's... Nobody around." Takashi notes. "Yeah and no sign of 'them' either." Sumiko adds, looking around. "They went after other living survivors then." He mutters. "Takashi look, on the right side of the intersection." Sumiko informs, leaning over him pressing her breasts against his neck. "No license, no helmet and a stolen bike. We're just asking to get arrested, huh?" Sumiko asks, smiling.
"After fighting an army of 'them' you're scared of some police car?" Takashi teases. "I'm not." She defends. As they got closer they see that the police had gotten into an accident, causing Takashi to stop. "You're kidding me." Takashi mutters. Sumiko hops off the bike and starts walking to the cop car. "Sumiko! What are you doing? There's gasoline leaking from the car. It's dangerous." Takashi calls out to his girlfriend. "We might find something useful." Sumiko calls back. "Don't just stand there, come help me out, Takashi." Sumiko searches the cops for anything useful and lays them down in the bike seat. "Handcuffs, a baton and a gun. Any idea how to use this?" She asks, holding up the gun. "If it's like what I've seen on TV... Then I don't put my fingers on the trigger unless I'm firing it." He says, picking up the gun. He stares at it in silence. "What's wrong?" Sumiko asks. "It just feels so heavy." He comments.
"Well no shit, it's the real thing." Sumiko deadpans. Takashi checks how much ammo the gun has while Sumiko searches the cops for more bullets. "Here you go." She hands Takashi some more bullets wiping her bloody hands with a towel. "I found it on the other office. The handle of his gun was broken but the bullets seemed fine." She explains, Takashi stares at the girl surprised. "You're really...something else." He comments. "My mom taught me how to use guns and what not. Plus a little blood never hurt anybody." Sumiko replies, putting the baton in the pocket of her shirt. Once they were on the bike Sumiko looks at their old weapons. "These will be back up." She says, wrapping her arms around Takashi as he drove off. Once they got to the gas station they got off. "I wonder if there's any fuel left." Takashi wonders. "Most likely, gas stations are equipped to hold fuel for over a thousand cars." Sumiko informs.
"We should be fine... tch!" "Now what?" Sumiko asks. "This is a self-service station. You need to pay upfront." He explains. "Then pay for it!" Sumiko tells him. "I bought some juice so I only got ¥30 on me." He shrugs. "You're the worst..." Sumiko mumbles. "Well sorry for not being Hisashi!" Takashi shouts. "What!? When have I ever compared you to Hisashi!?" Sumiko argues. "You called me the worst! Which means there's someone who's the best. Which would obviously be Hisashi." He argues back. "You're that insecure, huh?" Sumiko mumbles. Takashi swings his hand at her, causing her to flinch away. "What?" She asks, seeing his hand stretched out in front of her. "Money! Lend me some." He tells her. "Well you see... I left my wallet in my school bag." She says looking away. "Oh Jesus, and you're riding my ass?" He glares at her, before looking at the store. "Stay here. Scream if something happens." He tells her walking to the store.
Sumiko leans on the bike. The sound of Takashi slamming his bat against something caused her to jump but quickly calm down. "He's got no self control, huh? Then again neither do I." She sighs looking down. "Dammit Sumiko, why do you always leave your sister behind? Idiot!" She reprimands herself. Feeling someone grabbing her waist from behind causes Sumiko to let out a scream. The person, which turned out to be a big black man, places a pocket knife to her throat. "Sumiko!" Takashi shouts running out. "Cute girlfriend you have, kid." The man says bringing his hand up to rest under her breasts. "Let her go!" Takashi shouts glaring at him. "In your dreams idiot! In a world overrun by monsters, you need a girl to survive." The creep tells him laughing. "Have you lost your mind!?" Sumiko shouts at him, struggling against his grip.
"Lost my mind? No shit! My family turned into 'them' right before my eyes. And I... I... I smashed their heads! My dad's, my mom's, granny's even my little brother and sister! There's no way I can keep sane after that!" He shouts, throwing his head back. "Takashi!" Sumiko calls out to her boyfriend. The man licks his lip before grabbing Sumiko's breast, causing her to let out a pained noise. "Awww, she's got a great voice and rack, plus they're totally huge!" He points out, groping the girl. "You're doing this girl ain't cha? You go at it like bunnies everyday, right?" He asks. "Taka... Takashi!" Sumiko calls out in pain. "If I were you I'd be doing the same thing too. With a girl like that who wouldn't?!" He shouts, Takashi takes a step forward but the man stops him. "Not so fast! Drop the bat or I kill the girl!" He shouts, pointing his knife at Sumiko's neck again. "And I'll be taking your motorcycle too!" "It's out of gas." Takashi tells him.
"You smashed the register. You've got plenty of gas! Fill her up!" The man demands. Takashi throws the bat which made a loud 'CLANG' when it hit the ground alerting near by walkers. He then goes the gas pump putting in the money and pumping gas into the bike. "Come on, can't you just let us go? We're on our way to see if our families are okay or not." Takashi tries reasoning but the man wouldn't have it. "Didn't you hear my story!? If they were in town, then your parents are just like my family!" The man tells him. "All done." Takashi says, pulling the pump out the bike and screwing the lid. "Now get outta here. Get lost!" The man shouts. "Come on, I mean it. I'm begging you. Let us go!" Takashi tries to reason again, walking closer to him. "Shut up! I'll kill you too!" The man shouts, raising his knife with his arm around Sumiko's neck. Takashi runs up to the man, pressing the gun against his shoulder and pulling back the hammer, shocking both him and Sumiko. "Wha...?" The man asks in shock.
"It's my first time firing a gun, but at this range, I can't miss." Takashi mumbles. "It... It... It might explode on you." The man stammers out. "It's better than having my girl stolen from me." Takashi replies and Sumiko looks over at Takashi surprised. A loud 'BANG' was heard and the man's grip on Sumiko loosened as he falls with a 'THUD' screaming in pain. "A hole! Blood! A hole! I'm bleeding!" Sumiko pulls out the baton extending it. "How dare you!?" She glares at him, ignoring the man's pleas. She goes to hit him when Takashi stops her, "Don't Sumiko." He warns. She stares at him silently before walking over to the bike and taking her place behind Takashi. They ride away leaving the man to be eaten by 'them'. "There's probably lots more of this in store for us." Takashi says. "Yeah, you're right about that." Sumiko replies, resting her head on Takashi's back closing her eyes. "Yep." They ride in silence for a while.
"Shit!" Takashi curses, alerting Sumiko who slides her hands up to his chest pulling herself closer to him. "What's wrong?" She whispers in his ear. "Nothing. Let's hurry up!" He replies. Sumiko was unsatisfied with his answer, but doesn't say anything.
