"how was the road- oh she's gone" Martha said, nodding as Lisa jetted upstairs after muttering a quick hello

"She's been off all day- I think it might be getting to her again" Jisoo said softly as they felt the door upstairs shut gently

"Did she say she was feeling under the weather?"

"No, but you know Lisa- she won't say what's wrong until she's about to breakdown" Jisoo huffed, dragging her things behind her as she headed towards her bedroom

"I'll tell you about the trip in a sec Ma' just gonna pack my stuff away" she said, heading up the stairs

Martha shook her head and smiled

"These girls"

Lisa felt like shit.

She had the pleasure of dropping Jackson's things off to the home he was staying at, and then the luxary of explaining where he was. To which she simply said

"He's staying at the cabin for a little longer- just to ground himself. He said he'll call when he's feeling better"

She watched as the care worker- who obviously loved Jackson as if he was her own nodded and pulled his stuff inside, waving Lisa goodbye before the doors shut.

The whole process was tiring, and really just annoying- but it was also painful.

She couldn't guarantee that Ruby Jane would actually bring Jackson back to life. So telling everyone who loves him that he was just grounding himself was like a form of torture in itself. She was building up people's hopes that he was one day coming back when she knew that he most probably was not.

The thought made bile rise in her chest as she quickly swallowed it down

She had to see him- to say goodbye properly.

And then she would come back and tell his care worker that the worst had happened. That he'd jumped off the cliff by the river and she was only able to see his floating head before it disappeared.

Then she tell the group that the family troubles where too much for him to handle. And that he'd killed himself without even consulting them. Without consulting Lisa. She'd explain his life to them and pray they wouldn't ask any more than that.

Lisa had it all figured out. Well she hoped she did.

But first came dinner with her mom and Jisoo.

"So, how was the trip Lisa?" Martha asked, plating some chicken and beef on a plate

"It was good, I had a lot of fun- thank you" Lisa said, taking the plate from her

"Yeah, her and Jackson were all 'hahah' and hehehe' when everyone else was asleep" Jisoo grunted taking the plate from her mother

"We were bonding" Lisa tried to excuse, smiling at the thought

"Well I for one am glad you made yourself a good friend. Maybe one day you can invite him over for dinner" Martha innocently offered

Lisa mood soured

"Yeah, maybe one day."

Lisa tried to sleep, but every time she closed her eyes all she could see was her parent's, Jackson and Ruby Jane.

And the hand the strangled her.

Lisa wasn't stupid, it was common sense to piece together that the thing that was chasing Ruby Jane in the water, was also the hand that threatened her. It wasn't up to Lisa to stop the demon suffering, nor did she have to ask it what was wrong.

But instead of being contempt with that thought, Lisa went to bed with a deep feeling of regret in her stomach- again.
