Noah and Kris are sitting in the hospital waiting room.

Noah: Okay, what are the rules?

Kris: Bros before hoes.

Noah glares at Kris.

Kris: Don't be a problem. Don't go looking for a problem.

Noah: Or else we're gonna have a prob-

Kris: A problem. I know, I know.

Noah: Okay, I'll be back in a little bit.

Ms. Greene: Mr. Diaz?

Noah: Hey, I- I know we're a little behind on the bill...

Ms. Greene: Three months behind and until your account is current, you can't bring your brother here. I've told you that.

Noah: I'm gonna fix it. I just need a little more time.

Ms. Greene: You can always take him to the ER.

Noah: Well, they won't see him in the ER unless he's critical.

Ms. Greene: Mr. Diaz...

Noah: He's eleven! He's eleven years old.

Soon, Noah walks over to his little brother in the waiting room.

Noah: Come on, Kris. We gotta go.

Kris: What happened?

Noah: Tell you later, man, alright? Come on, let's get out of here

They leave the hospital. Later, they stop by a work building.

Noah: Hey, yo, sit here. Don't move!

He goes into the building and walks to the receptionist.

Walker: Can I help you?

Noah: Yes. Hey, I'm here for an interview with the head of security, Mr. Bishop. I'm Noah Diaz.

Walker: It's been canceled.

Noah: No, no, that has to be a mistake.

Walker: Then write for Mr. Bishop.

Noah spots Mr. Bishop, chatting to a woman and walks over to him.

Noah: Mr. Bishop! Hey, hey!

Mr. Bishop: It's okay, Walker.

Noah: It's me, Noah Diaz. Sir, I think your boy back there is confused. He said our interview is canceled.

Mr. Bishop: Because it is.

Noah: Wait, why? On the phone, you said I was perfect for the job. You said this was just a formality.

Mr. Bishop: It was until your old commanding officer called me back. Said you were brave, an expert Comtech, but unreliable. Couldn't trust you. Your head was always somewhere else.

Noah: Sir, I can't explain all of that. I had some responsibilities at home. My brother, he's s...

Mr. Bishop: You had responsibility to the United States Army.

Noah: Mr. Bishop, sir, I'm a hard worker, okay? I just... I just really need a break.

Mr. Bishop: Listen, I can't have someone like you mess up what I built.

Noah: Someone like me? You don't know anything about me!

Mr. Bishop: I know you don't know how to be part of a team.

Bishop walks away, leaving Noah in disappointment. Later, Noah and Kris take the subway train, depressed over today.

Kris: Hey, look, Superman went on a bunch of interviews before he got his job on the Daily Planet. Man, he never gave up.
