Chapter 21

Summer passes fast

Barty and I become close very fast.

"Your cheating!" He yells

"How in Merlin's hairy balls could I be cheating!" I yell back

We are both in a very intense game of wizards chess.

"Check-mate!" I say

"You're cheating! She's cheating!" He says turning to Regulus, who's just trying to read.

"Mhm, whatever." Regulus replies

"Technically 'mhm' means yes, so Regulus just confirmed that your cheating!" He says

I roll my eyes "I didn't, but if you want to think that then you can."

I continue to write to Draco, but his letters become formal, and eventually stop, I figure it has something to do with Voldemort being back and his father being a deatheater.

I brush it off.

No one seems to believe us tho,

Not me, not Harry, not Sirius, not Regulus, not Barty, not even Dumbledore.

We've told everyone that Voldemort is back, but the ministry keeps denying it. The prophet is constantly writing lies about us and calling us the liars, which is ridiculous.

"Oh! Look at this one!" I pick up a newspaper, "it goes from 'Potter' to "Plotter', I bet it took them weeks to brew that one up." I say

Harry shrugs, I think this might bother him, I try to cheer him up with jokes, but it never seems to work.

"You're so boring," I say "you never laugh at anything, and your always gloomy."

He scoffs "I'm sorry I'm not happy about Voldemort being back! What do you want me to do, go throw a welcome back party?"

"I'm not asking you to do that! I just want you to be a little more cheerful! If you wanna sulk all summer don't do it around us, because you're running the summer!" I say

He's thrown back by the words "I- I didn't mean to ruin anything." He's quiet now.

"Harry I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, I just don't want you to spend your summer upset about something we cant do anything about, it's not our fault they don't believe us."

Draco hasn't responded to a single one of my letters, I've stopped writing to him.

It's pretty fun here, Bartys a really fun person, much better than when he locked up a auror and pretended to be him.

The ministry continues to deny Voldemort being back.

"Can everyone come to the kitchen!" Regulus yells across the house

We all go down "yeah?" I ask

"I need you two" he points at me and Harry "to get another Horcrux this year, I haven't figured out all of them yet, but the ones I have are here. The Slytherin locket- of course- Tom Riddles diary, R-" harry cuts him off

"Did you just say Tom Riddles diary?" He asks
Regulus nods "I destroyed that in second year, with a basilisk venom!"

"Perfect! Wait? Second year?!? Never mind, I'm not even gonna ask. As I was saying, and Rowena Ravenclaws diadem, which I've found out recently, is at Hogwarts. I'm not sure where tho, but I've heard that Ravenclaws daughter is a ghost at Hogwarts, so I think you should ask her." He says
