Aadarsh remained motionless at her subtle confession and continued rubbing her back in a gentle manner.

She would have been delusional that he didn't even hear her if it wasn't for his fast-thumping heart beneath her cheek.

She knew that he heard her.

He ignored it and she couldn't help but desperately look into his eyes trying hard to find something which was never there in the first place.

Aadarsh gave her a sad smile, his hands cupping her delicate cheeks as their eyes talked in silent whispers.

The harsh thorn of rejection pricked her delicate heart making it bleed as tears filled her amber eyes.

Aadarsh inhaled sharply, his heart thumping loudly at the inevitable hurt he knew he would cause her little heart someday but he wasn't prepared for it. Not now. Not ever.

She was his.

His forever.

Yet he couldn't say those three words so subtly the way she said to him. He just can't.

Emotions like these were locked away in a corner of his heart and he did not attempt to unlock them ever.

"Why? Why? Why!?" She bellowed breaking down in front of him as she asked the reason for everything feeling vulnerable at her nakedness physically and emotionally as she had stripped herself of every cloth and emotion in front of him.

Aadarsh held her close to his heart as sobs left her lips. His own heart clenched at her pain and sorrow that was stabbing him back. He was hurting her and himself because of something he had no control over.

"Naina..." He murmured gruffly, his hand going behind her back to stroke her hair in a soothing way to calm her down a bit but she only cried harder, her tears slipping down his chest making his heart drop in the pit of his stomach.

He knew his no words would be able to heal the wounds that she gave herself. So he just let her cry even if it felt like going through hell hearing her reckless sobs till she didn't have the energy to cry anymore so she laid in his arms motionless.

Her eyes looked dead more than alive and that concerned him. He patted her cheek but he got no response, he swallowed hard when she continued to look emotionlessly without even glancing at him.

Her own emotions and the world felt jumbled up.

She knew it wasn't his fault.

He didn't love her and that wasn't a sin.

She couldn't even make her husband fall for her even after trying everything and that thought made her want to tear up once again but she held herself back.
