Chapter 10: Setting Up a Shoppe

Opening up his eyes, Kirby found himself not in the World of Dreams, or the room of the inn, but rather he was in an area where he couldn't make out where he was. Soon though, Kirby was able to recognize what this place was.

"Hello?" Kirby called out "Spelltwister Cookie? Is that you?"

Hello again Kirby.

Kirby blinked, and looked up to see that Spelltwister Cookie's silhouette was right next to him. Smiling, Kirby waved at it. "Hai again!"

I noticed your friend was very fascinated by me and my staff.

"Oh... my apologies for that..." Kirby sweated "Magolor means well, he's just really into magical objects."

It is all right, your friends' fascination is somewhat understandable. Come to think of it, I think my old friend was quite invested in magic herself.

"Ooh was she? Do you remember anything else about her?"

I've been trying to remember, having someone else to talk to has helped me out a bit with trying to concentrate and recall my past.

"That's good!" Kirby smiled "Have you remembered anything?"

A few things, before I had to seal myself in here I went on quite a few journeys around Crispia. Meeting other Cookies, going to various villages with my s- staff... and before I did all that I... I had a family once...

"Really?" Kirby tilted his head "What kind of family?"

Spelltwister Cookie's silhouette put her hand on her forehead. She seemed sad about something, while also trying to remember her past.

Well... I had siblings... a father, and... and...

"Something wrong?"

That's all the family I can recall, but I feel like I'm forgetting something... or someone...

Spelltwister Cookie's silhouette looked devastated.

It hurts...

Kirby frowned. "Uh oh, what hurts?"

This thing that I'm forgetting, it hurts that I can't remember.

"Ouch, your head okay?"

No, not my head... It hurts my heart.

Kirby let out a saddened gasp. "Awww oh no! Why is your heart hurting??"

Whatever I'm missing was clearly something I deeply cared about, and not remembering it, *Sigh* it just adds on to the downsides of being trapped in here...

"Awww..." Kirby looked at Spelltwister Cookie's silhouette, not wanting her to feel to sad, Kirby tried to cheer her up the only way he could think of at the moment. Waddling up to the silhouette, Kirby reached out and gave her a hug.

Kirby wasn't able to make out her expression, but Spelltwister Cookie seemed surprised by this at first, but that surprise soon changed to a slight hint of gratitude as she reached out and gave him a head pat.

Thank you Kirby, that is very kind of you.

Kirby looked up at her, though her face was still covered in shadow, he could tell she was looking at him in appreciation of his kindness. In fact as he looked, he thought he could somewhat make out small details of her face, could it be her magic is finally getting stronger again to the point she'll be able to present her appearance to others when she spoke to them in their minds?
