Chapter 18: Stress

Having left Prophet Cookie's Cookie house, the team had gone over to one of the kingdom's fountains and were now standing around it, trying to decide what to do next.

Kirby had taken a seat on the fountain's edge and started fidgeting with his hands a bit. He was starting to get slightly anxious.

"Do you think enough time has passed to start asking if anyone has looked at the missing posters we put up?" GingerBrave questioned.

"Probably not. It's only been an hour or so." Wizard Cookie pointed out "I'd say we should give it more time."

"We don't have more time!" Kirby waved his hands, agitated.

They had spent so much time making copies, putting up posters, and talking to Prophet Cookie, that the day was halfway up, and before they knew it, it would be sunset. Once Kirby had realized this he started to get a bit distressed, he hadn't found any of his friends today, despite all the work that had been done to try and help.

"Kirby." Adeleine tried to get the pink puff's attention "Kirby, it's okay."

Adeleine herself was admittedly a little anxious too, but not for the same reason Kirby was. She was starting to feel anxious due to what Prophet Cookie had told her and the others. Not just regarding her fortune- which she was a bit unsure how to feel about- but also the prophecy and if it was tied to her and her friends.

Despite this, she was doing her best to keep herself composed and trying to act mature to ease Kirby's worries.

"We still have some time left today, I'm sure we'll be able to do something else important."

"Like finding one of our friends?" Kirby asked "I was hoping we'd at least find one today."

"Sorry to say, but I don't know if we can do that Kirby." said Wizard Cookie "Even with the info Prophet Cookie provided us, we're still going to have trouble locating someone."

"But those visions are a lead! So why don't we start with that." GingerBrave said to the group.

"That is, if those visions were true." Prune Juice Cookie brought up, Magolor nodding at his statement.

"I think they might be real." Strawberry Cookie spoke up "After all, Prophet Cookie didn't charge us or anything, what would he have to gain from lying to us?"

(Oh, you'd be surprised what liars could gain that isn't monetary. From others' trust and faith, to setting expectations that they can easily get away with, it's all very easy to gain. I know from experience.) Magolor wanted to tell her, but kept it to himself.

"Speaking of those visions," GingerBrave started to say "The only one we got a location for was the Crème Republic, which we could travel to using our Bear Jelly Balloon. It's a special hot air balloon we use for traveling to places easily, but it might be a bit late in the day to start traveling, so we'd probably have to wait until tomorrow."

"We'd have to wait until tomorrow anyway GingerBrave, we lent our Bear Jelly Balloon to Olive Cookie for her expedition and she's not coming back until tomorrow, remember?" Wizard Cookie reminded him.

"Oh." GingerBrave scratched the back of his head and sweated "Right, there's also that. I forgot."

Magolor gave him a raised eyebrow look. "How conveniently inconvenient."

"We could also technically get there via ship I think," Strawberry Cookie mentioned "but that might take longer, and the ships we have are usually only for trading goods anyway."
