Chapter 16: A Day to Relax and Befriend
"Kirby! Come on! Time to wake up!"
"Mm?" Kirby muttered as he woke up, opening his eyes to see Dedede standing over him.
"Oh, (*Yawn!*) good morning Dedede."
Kirby sat himself up and did a quick stretch before looking up at Dedede.
"About time you got up," Dedede stated "you slept in for quite some time. Were you having a good dream or something?"
Smiling, Kirby let out a small yawn and nodded. "Mmhmm, I was indeed."
Kirby had been having such a wonderful time in The World of Dreams aboard the train and telling stories about Popstar and Dreamland to Milky Way Cookie and Space Doughnut, he had almost forgotten it hadn't happened in the waking world.
(I wonder if I should tell Dedede and the others about The World of Dreams?) he pondered in his mind (Milky Way Cookie did say not everyone knows about the existence of The World of Dreams, and it would likely result in chaos if too many knew about it. But maybe I can find a way to tell others without exposing its existence completely. Because it's so much fun there!)
"Good for you. You need to get up now though." Dedede told him "Magolor and Elfilin are already downstairs with the others, apparently the innkeeper is having a little breakfast buffet for all the guests, and I so badly want to run downstairs to get as much food I can, yet Magolor wanted me to stay so I could wake you up."
"Ooh, there's a breakfast buffet?" Kirby hopped out of bed, excited "Why didn't you say so? Let's go!"
"YES! Thank you!"
Dedede instantly ran out the door and headed downstairs, Kirby running after the king and closing the door behind him.
"Hey! Wait for me!!" he called out to Dedede.
The two quickly reached the inn's lounge where all of Kirby's Dreamland and beyond friends were all together enjoying breakfast food from the buffet that had been laid out by the Sugar Gnome staff. Some of the Cookies had even come in and were enjoying the breakfast buffet as well.
Noticing Kirby and King Dedede, the Sugar Gnome in charge of the inn waved at them. "Good morning! We've got plenty of delicious sweets and tasty jellies for you all to eat! Dippity-doo! Only costs two coins per food serving, however your friend over here has already paid for enough food for everyone in advance! Diddi-di!"
Magolor looked over to Dedede and Kirby and gave them a wink. "You're welcome! Help yourself to all you can eat!"
"Don't mind if I do!" Dedede grinned, heading over to one of the buffet tables where the Waddle Dees were standing by, and grabbing a few pancakes to eat.
"Poyo, how did you pay for all this?" Kirby asked, walking up to Magolor after grabbing and eating some Star Jellies.
"Hee hee~ the coins I earned from my new Shoppe came in handy as you can see." Magolor answered with his eyes closed similar to how people would when smiling.
Kirby giggled "Ah, so that's why. Where's Elfilin?"
"He's right there." Magolor pointed to where Elfilin was. He was at the table with the Cookies, being held by Herb Cookie!
Kirby walked over to that table, with Magolor deciding to follow him.
"Hey! Kirby! Good morning!" GingerBrave greeted, Strawberry Cookie, Wizard Cookie, and Custard Cookie III waving hello.
Herb Cookie waved with the hand that wasn't carrying Elfilin. "Hoo hoo! Good morning! How are you doing?"
"Good!" Kirby answered, then brought his attention to Elfilin "Hey Elfilin, what are you doing with Herb Cookie?"
