Chapter 30: I Spy a Liar

Nearly several hours had passed aboard the Bear Jelly Balloon and it had been a long ride for Kirby and his friends. Everyone tried to keep each other entertained with conversations and fun road-trip games, but those didn't last long and could only be entertaining for a certain amount of time. After a while each game got boring and they would have to come up with another one to temporarily be entertained by. That, or try to think of something fun to converse about.

To no one's surprise, the one who grew the most bored quickly was Marx, whom after literally only thirty minutes into the trip tried to get everyone aboard to play some games he had in mind, yet almost everyone unanimously turned him down given the fact they were worried what 'games' Marx had in mind.

Disappointed and a bit bitter at the Bear Jelly Balloons passengers- and Magolor- Marx instead chose to play his own games by himself, which amounted to flying or teleporting down over to the landscapes the aircraft flew over to get a quick closer look at the sights before flying or teleporting back up. His other activity, and favorite of the two, pestering the others and going: "Are we there yet?"

This was mostly directed at Magolor.

"Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" he repeated in a purposefully annoying tone at the mage who was trying his best to ignore him, but after four hours into the flight he looked ready to spike the jester into the ground.

Everyone else who was aboard the Bear Jelly Balloon- minus Kirby- was equally getting annoyed by Marx, as when he did the pestering, it would be a large distraction when they were trying to have a conversation.

At one point, Adeleine noticed Prune Juice Cookie bring out a potion.

"What's that for?"

"This is my 'Headphones' potion, it temporarily makes whoever drinks it hear nothing but white noise and block out all surrounding sounds." he explained.

Wizard Cookie, who had been covering his ears, looked at the potion. "You don't suppose I could have a sip of that, would you?"

To everyone's relief they all got a break from Marx when after several hours, the jester grew tired and decided to kill time by falling asleep. Everyone was pleased by this, with the exception of Dedede, because he was the one who had to hold onto Marx while he slept, and the jester did little kicks while he was asleep.

The only thing everyone was still bothered by, even with Marx asleep, was how long this trip was taking. There were only oh so many ways to be entertained in a tiny balloon basket.

One method Prune Juice Cookie just finished trying, was explaining all the potions he had on him.

At least, all the ones he felt like sharing.

"And that's what I use the 'I'll Be Back' potion for." he had finished explaining the last potion he had shared, returning it to his bag.

"Oooh, so cool!" Kirby cheered, doing little hops instead of clapping since he was carrying Elfilin in his hands. Adeleine gave him a nod, then resumed drawing, which she had been doing a lot of throughout this voyage.

"Seems a bit situational, but it sounds cool." Strawberry Cookie encouraged him, GingerBrave agreed.

"Got anymore potions?" asked Custard Cookie III.

"That's all for now I'm afraid, but once we're at the Vanilla Kingdom I'll be sure to brew some more for you all to see."

"Speaking of which-" Dedede had started speaking, but was cut off by Marx letting out a loud snore. Dedede took a breath. "Not to quote this devious grape, but how much longer until we're there?"
