The room seemed to close in around Damien, his heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and desperation. Clutching the jacket to his chest, he felt its fabric under his fingertips, a tangible link to the woman who had captured his heart in a single night. His mind was a tempest of emotions, a whirlwind of longing and confusion.

Outside, the world bustled on, oblivious to the storm inside him. Damien's breathing grew laboured, the air thick with the scent of his mate, imprinted on the very fibres of the jacket. Every inhale was a reminder of what he had found and lost in the same breath.

Ryan, his usually jovial demeanour replaced by a grave intensity, hurried back into the room, his eyes reflecting the urgency of the situation. "The tracker is on his way, Alpha," he reported, his voice low, matching the gravity of Damien's mood. There was an unspoken understanding between them, a shared acknowledgement of the pivotal moment they were facing.

Damien's grip on the jacket tightened as if he could anchor himself to reality through its touch. His mate was real, not just a dream woven from the tendrils of intoxication. Yet, the memories of their encounter slipped through his fingers like sand, leaving him grasping at fragments of a night that felt too surreal to be true.

As they waited, the air crackled with tension, the silence of the room amplifying their shared apprehension. Damien's eyes, usually fierce with determination, were clouded with a mixture of hope and fear. He dared not voice his deepest fear - that this connection with his mate was too fragile, too ephemeral to withstand the harsh light of day.

When the tracker finally arrived, a seasoned wolf with eyes sharp as daggers, Damien's heart leapt in his chest. This was their chance, a glimmer of hope in the darkness that had settled around him. With a sense of urgency, he handed over the jacket to the tracker, his voice raw with emotion. "Find her. Find my mate."

The tracker, sensing the importance of his mission, nodded solemnly and set off, his steps purposeful and unwavering. Damien watched him go, his jaw clenched in determination. This was the moment that could either shatter his world or bring it into sharp focus. His mate was out there, waiting for him in the shadows, and Damien was willing to tear down mountains to find her.

The room echoed with the weight of their unspoken vows, the promise of a love that defied all odds. In that intense moment, Damien steeled his resolve. He would find her, and when he did, he vowed to never let her slip away again. The chase had begun, and Damien was no longer a passive pawn in fate's game - he was a relentless hunter, driven by a passion that could move mountains and conquer worlds.

Ryan moved through the hallway like a silent wraith, Peter, the tracker, trailing him closely. Their steps were measured and deliberate, designed not to draw attention. They took deliberate detours, ensuring no prying ears intercepted their secretive plans. Eventually, they arrived at the Alpha's door, a solid structure at the heart of the mansion, a fortress guarding their leader's privacy.

As Ryan knocked and heard the Alpha's command to enter, he opened the door, ushering Peter inside before him. Damien, a commanding presence behind his desk, didn't turn to greet them. His intense gaze was fixed outside, his mind engrossed in something that held his complete attention. The office, adorned in polished wood, resonated with the gravitas of the Alpha.

Ryan, hands clasped, waited for his Alpha's instructions. "Alpha, the tracker, as per your request," he announced, his voice respectful in the presence of his leader. Damien's reply came without diverting his gaze, "I have changed my mind, Ryan. We don't need to track her."

The unexpected statement left Ryan dumbfounded. The tracker discreetly left, closing the door behind him. Alone with Damien, Ryan's confusion boiled into frustration. "What are you doing?" he demanded, incredulous. He couldn't fathom the sudden change in Damien's approach.

Damien finally turned to face him, his expression unreadable. "I think I've found her. She was here with me all along," he said cryptically, leaving Ryan utterly puzzled. Trying to make sense of Damien's words, Ryan urged him, "I get it, the mate bond, but we still need to find her in person. Where's the jacket? You stay here; I'll bring it to the tracker."

But Damien's response was unexpected. "I don't have it," he replied casually, his eyes still fixed on something outside the window. Ryan's frustration reached its peak. "Man, where did you give it, and to whom?" he exploded, unable to comprehend his friend's actions.

With a soft smile, Damien gestured for Ryan to come closer. Reluctantly, Ryan approached, and Damien subtly indicated the scene outside. There, in the secluded garden, Aadaya sat amidst laughter and joy. The children painted on her, and she shared a moment of pure happiness. Unbeknownst to her, she was under watchful eyes, those of her mate - she was oblivious to his watchful eyes filled with adoration.

The group consisted of his mate as she sat there with Marcus, and his kindergarten friends as they painted all over her. Saddie and Chris also had their canvas colouring them as they sat there, in the small garden where barely anyone came. The small garden is hidden in between the trees and mazes-like walls separated from the open area.

Aadaya sat with all her tattoos on display as she laughed merrily with the kids enjoying the winter sun. Her laughs reach the window, as it reverberate into Damein's heart. Her red-brownish long hair opens as the wind plays with it. She sat there with no worries, laughing as she was being painted by Marcus, laughing joyfully. Her beauty shone more in the bright sun, The sun rays bouncing off her fair skin, as the wind played with her long tresses.

In that quiet moment, Damien's eyes, filled with a mix of emotions, conveyed the truth. He had found her, with the essence of her very happiness that she had unknowingly brought into his pack. And in that discovery, a storm of determination and protectiveness stirred within him. The chase had ended, but a new journey, one fraught with challenges and dangers, was about to begin. Damien's heart tightened with resolve; he would do whatever it took to keep her safe. While Aadaya sat there happily.

Unknown to her one single mistake, unknown to the eyes on her...
