You glance briefly out of the window, hearing the sounds of battle from the courtyard below. You've been locked away in a tower guarded by a ferocious dragon for years now by the evil wizard of Kupa Keep for eating his KFC. After a few minutes, the noise from the courtyard stops just as it always does.

Poor Jason White.

You couldn't bear to look at the carnage any longer. He wasn't the first person who tried to rescue you and he wouldn't be the last. No one had been a match for the dragon that guards you. Their bodies still dotted the castle, nothing but bones and disfigured armor, scorched by the heat of the dragon's breath.

The beating of its wings shakes the glass, as the gargantuan beast circles back to the courtyard to face another suitor.

It was only a bucket of chicken! Did that really warrant this kind of dramatic punishment?

A pained roar grabs your attention. Through the corner of your eye, you see black scales streaked with blood, and instead of the usual slow, triumphant swoop back to its roost, the creature's movements were panicked. One of the horns that flanked its head had been cut away leaving a cracked and jagged stump. Thick red blood marred a black hole where its eye had once been.

You rush to the window, with a renewed sense of hope. Down in the courtyard, the dragon slayer still stands tall with her axe and shield at the ready. She was scantily clad in bronze armor, with purple garments underneath, frayed and scorched from the previous encounter.

She's a woman? And she's still alive!

Red

The creature folded its wings back and dived down with an angry roar, fixated on Red. She simply raised her shield, bracing herself as a blinding explosion erupted from the dragon, enveloping her completely in fire. As it dissipated, Red lowered her shield and raised her massive axe.

Plummeting downward once more, the beast poised ready to strike with its razor-sharp talons. Red didn't move until the last second, throwing herself to the ground as the dragon careened over her head and crashed. She leaped to her feet and ran towards the fallen beast as it struggled to pick itself back up.

Her axe hacked through its hard scales relentlessly, avoiding the beast's snapping jaws. The fury burned in its one remaining eye and it fired a jet of flame across the courtyard. Red's keen reflexes kept her out of the line of fire and skillfully dodged it, rolling around the side of the creature's head.

Dropping her shield, she raised her gigantic axe with both hands and in one swing, severed the head clean from the dragon's body.

She fell to her knees, chest heaving as she caught her breath.

...

The edges of Red's purple garments were badly scorched. Her horned helmet was sure to have a ding or two in it. Red preferred wearing scanty armor, it made her feel in touch with her femininity while she mercilessly slaughtered beasts for bounty.

Today's bounty was Y/N. Red was sought out by the Elven Kingdom to rescue her from Kupa Keep's punishment.

For a moment, the two stood in silence. Y/N was much more beautiful in person leaving Red at a loss for words and after what felt like an eternity, she finally spoke up.

"Lady Y/N of the Elven Kingdom?"

As she nodded, Red dropped to her knee, tilting her head forward in a sign of respect, and introduced herself.

"Red McArthur, Slayer of Dragons in service to the Elven Kingdom."

"Thank you for rescuing me! Although, I must say I was expecting-"

"You were expecting a guy?"

Y/N blushed, "Is it horrible if I say yes?"

"Sorry to disappoint, my lady." She laughed, "I get that a lot."

...

"Dragons," Red explained, "are proud and mighty beasts, that don't take kindly to intruders encroaching on their territory. The only thing they care more about than KFC is their treasure, which in this case happened to be you. So it's apt that the wizard would choose a beast like this to guard you."

Y/N looked on in genuine interest, "You sure know a lot about dragons."

Red blushed. She had never held the attention of a girl this beautiful before.

"I'm sorry, am I rambling?"

"Oh no!" She said with wide eyes, "Please continue!"

...

You hold on to Red's waist on the back of the horse. Her long ruby locks flowed effortlessly in the wind, stirring up a mixture of emotions. Red was everything you expected from a slayer. She was chivalrous and handsome, with the ferociousness of a barbarian. She even wore shining bronze armor.

She was, in every way, the perfect dragon slayer.

You recall the stories you had read as a little girl in which the dragon slayer would always ride to the castle on the back of a white horse. He would slay the dragon, climb the thousand stairs, and free the princess from her tower. And that's exactly what Red had done.

And yet...

There was something else. Something you didn't want to admit. Because while the story ended there on paper, there was always an implication of something that happened next. Something intimate.

You try to ignore the memories of all the nights you were alone in bed with your eyes closed, hands moving over your body imagining your brave rescuer there with you. He would gently lay you back, slipping off your dress and part your legs, teasing you with kisses before undoing his belt.

You feel yourself getting wet.

Why am I thinking about that now? It's nothing but a stupid fantasy, something to get me through the lonely nights.

With your arms around Red, you knew for certain it would never come true. After all, you were both women.

Women don't have sex with each other. Do they?

Red

Night had fallen and Red was searching for a good place to camp, finally settling on the crook of a small hill shielded from the elements by a rocky outcrop.

She dismounted and reached up to help Y/N down, taking her hand in hers. Y/N's touch was delicate and warmed her to the core. She imagined those hands holding onto her as she made Y/N finish over and over again.

Red snapped out of her fantasy. She would never have a chance with Y/N, she had been expecting a guy to come save her all this time, not her.

Unfastening one of her saddle bags, Red returned with two bedrolls, laid them down next to each other, and covered them with a thin fur blanket."Believe it or not, I don't usually have company, so I'm afraid I only have one blanket. We'll have to share."

She paused realizing how suggestive that sounded, and backtracked, "Unless you'd rather sleep separately?"

"But you'll freeze!"

Red smiled, "I'll be fine, I've got my undergarments."

Y/N shook her head, "No, really, we can share the blanket. You rescued me, it would be incredibly rude to make you sleep out in the cold."

Red tilted her head down in amusement. "Thank you, my lady."
