Aubrey watched the confusion on Kel's face grow before going to shock, then embarrassment. Personally, she wasn't all that embarrassed or shocked. Probably because she expected it because, you know, she was the one to ask.

"Why?" was soon the only thing that came out of his mouth.

"So we can get those people to leave us alone." There were two kids at school that kept bothering them. For Aubrey, it was because she went years without having a single friend before meeting the main group, and for Kel, it was his annoying reputation. They bothered them both, and Aubrey was done with it.

Her plan was that if they pretended to be dating, then they could work together to make them stop. One of them was a hopeless romantic, and the other one kept bragging about how many girlfriends he had when everyone knew he never even held hands with a girl other than his family. If they started dating, they would get the upper hand. Victory would be theirs!

She explained her brilliant plan to him in full detail, and she expected him to relax and go along. Instead, he looked a little disappointed and said, "We shouldn't do that..."

"It's fine. It's not like it's real."

"But...are you sure?"

"Come on, nothing bad will happen!" Aubrey had read some fake-dating romance books even though she was told she was too young for them, and the two people in a fake relationship always ended up falling in love by the end. But that was because it was romance. She and Kel had nothing romantic going on between them!

Kel shrugged. "Okay, I guess..."

Aubrey smiled. "Great! We have a lot of planning to do!"

Kel sighed. Aubrey could already tell he regretted his decision. She didn't pity him—he would be thanking her when the bullies left them alone!

"ᴡʜᴏ ᴅᴏ ɪ have to change my school profile picture?" Kel asked when Aubrey forced him to open his school account.

"So we can match!" Aubrey showed him the image again, this one of two of her favourite Vocaloid characters. "I'll be Meiko, and you can be Kaito!"

"I don't even know them..."

"Which is why your music taste sucks. Now change it! All couples match their profile pictures!"

"All couples?"

"Change it, or I'll throw your shoes down the toilet!"

"Fine, okay!" Kel huffed as he reluctantly followed her orders. "Who knew girlfriends could be so needy..."

Aubrey scowled, but smiled when he changed it. Now, he and her were matching! Couples had matching profile pictures, so it was enough to make other people think they were a couple.

"We're not doing all those couple stuff, right?" Kel asked for the millionth time.

"I already told you thousands of times, no. We're telling all our friends our plan, and hope for the best."

"Right. Just checking. I'm not catching any more cooties than I need..." He shuddered.

"Girls don't have cooties."
