"ᴡᴇ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ᴀ big plan for tomorrow," Kel told Sunny. They were in Kel's bedroom, and they were having a super-secret and super-important meeting that only they could attend—with exceptions for Hector and Sally, of course. "Tomorrow is February 14ᵀᴴ—so it's Valentine's Day. And that means tomorrow is going to be super lovey-dovey."

Sunny nodded along, Sally sitting on his lap now that she was old enough to start moving around. Hector barked as if he agreed as he laid next to Sunny. Hector wasn't usually allowed on Kel's bed, but he didn't care. His parents weren't home, anyway—the perfect time for their meeting.

"So," he continued, pacing around because he thought that was what important people did when thinking for a plan, "we did to launch Project Aubrey."

"That project name sounds weird," Sunny said. Sally made baby noises that sounded like she agreed with Sunny, waving around her small fists.

"That's not the point!" Kel tried to glare at them, but he knew he couldn't stay mad at them for long. "Our goal is to use Valentine's Day as a way to make Aubrey fall for me."

That had been their—or his—goal for a while. Ever since he realized a few years ago he had a crush on her, he had been wanting to get her to like him. Sunny, Sally, and Hector all knew, and for Valentine's Day, they were going to do something? What was the "something" they were going to do? That would figure that out today! Hopefully.

When he told them that they were going to do something tomorrow, Sunny said, "Don't do anything."

"Huh?" Kel frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Don't do anything. Doing something is too much work..." There was the Sunny they all knew and loved, thinking everything was too much work unless it was something drawing- or poem-related. Then, nothing was too much work.

"I have to do something," he said, "and you guys are going to help me come up with whatever I'm doing."

Sunny sighed, then shrugged. Hector barked, and Sally tried to put her fist in her mouth. They were probably agreeing with him.

Kel grinned at them. "So, does anyone have any ideas? And it has to be doing something," he added when Sunny raised his hand like he was in school. He lowered his hand.

Sally gurgled something. Maybe it could've been the smartest idea in the world, but he couldn't understand it, mainly because she was still trying to eat her hand. He told her, "I'll think about that," even though he knew he wouldn't.

"Why don't you just confess?" Sunny suggested. Hector nodded.

"But I need to get her to like me first! I'm obviously gonna get rejected if I confess out of nowhere!"

"You'll be fine. I confessed to Basil out of nowhere, and he accepted."

"It wasn't out of nowhere. Everyone knew you guys liked each other."

"Exactly." Sunny had a small, satisfied smile as if he explained the reason the universe existed. That was to be expected since he never explained his thoughts fully, but that wasn't helpful right now. Not like it ever was.

"Point is," Kel said, "I need to make her fall for me before I confess. I need to...romance her. Court her. You get what I'm saying, right?"

"Hero and Mari are better at this than us." Sunny pushed Sally's foot away from her mouth after she gave up on trying to eat her hand and found something else to eat.
