ɪᴛ ᴡᴀꜱ ꜰɪɴᴀʟʟʏ done. After months and months of long, hard work from all six of them with some help of Kel and Hero's father, the treehouse built in Sunny and Mari's backyard was finished! Decorated with spare furniture any of them had and lots of paper flowers Aubrey and Basil made, it was a small yet comfortable place. It was perfect!

The six friends gazed up at the new treehouse from the ground—or, if it was Kel, on Aubrey's back. It was a miracle that the two of them were getting along with no trace of an argument coming soon. When Mari was going to tease them about it, she was quickly shushed by Sunny, who didn't want to face any of the usual arguments between Kel and Aubrey today, or at the very least not right now.

Some of them started to climb the ladder to go inside. Aubrey and Kel stayed on the ground due to Aubrey's inability to climb with him on her back, but neither of them seemed to want to go up just yet. They were both laughing about something they didn't seem to want to share with the others anytime soon, and that was a rare sight indeed.

Basil, as always, had his Polaroid camera with him, and at seeing how happy everyone was at the treehouse being finished, he called everyone's attention and took a photo. Once it was ready, he showed Aubrey and Kel as they were the only ones still not in the treehouse. Those two were also the closest to the camera, so they received a lot of the attention.

Despite how happy they were a mere second ago, Kel said that Aubrey smiled weirdly in the photo. Aubrey immediately retaliated by saying he looked stupid, and just as an argument was about to start, Aubrey pushed Kel off her and went to the treehouse. Kel glared at her as he stood beside Basil, who was still holding the photo.

Oh, well. Maybe next time, there would be more success in having peace between Aubrey and Kel.

ᴛᴇᴄʜɴɪᴄᴀʟʟʏ ꜱᴘᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ, ᴋᴇʟ and Aubrey were trespassing, but also technically speaking, they didn't care. Well, Kel didn't.

A few weeks ago, Hero went back to college. A few weeks before that, Sunny moved away from Faraway Town. Basil was out with Polly, and since Kel wanted to hang out with one of them, he was more or less forced to hang out with Aubrey—not that he minded. They were at their secret hangout spot a while ago before Kel decided that he wanted to go to Sunny and Mari's old treehouse. Since a new young couple recently moved into Sunny and Mari's old house, Aubrey didn't want to get in trouble, especially when she was trying to change her reputation from being Faraway Town's delinquent to someone good. It took him some convincing and, unfortunately, bribery to get her to agree.
