Author's POV

New York City - a living, breathing organism of concrete and glass, pulsating with the energy of millions chasing their destinies. The city is a kaleidoscope of cultures, a patchwork quilt of neighborhoods, each with its own narrative.

Manhattan, the beating heart of New York City, unfolds like a mesmerizing tale of ambition, resilience, and dreams against a backdrop of towering skyscrapers that pierce the sky. The island is a narrative in itself, its streets and avenues weaving a story that captivates those who traverse its canyons of steel and glass.

Flight from Bangkok to New York was delayed due to inclement weather conditions. So the flight which was supposed to reach New York in the afternoon, arrived in the early evening, casting a golden hue over the cityscape as the sun began its descent.

Kim was all awake when the flight landed while Porchay was fast asleep in Kim's arms. He slowly moved the strand of hair from Porchay's face to take a look at the ethereal beauty.

Just then Porchay stirred. Kim immediately put his hand back, pretending nothing had happened.

Porchay stretched his arms and yawned. "Are we there yet?", he asked with a groggy voice, rubbing his eyes.

"Yes", Kim replied, while looking at his phone.

Porchay looked outside to find the airport authorities directing the plane towards a designated gate.

Soon, they finished their arrival procedures and made their way out of the airport. As they stepped outside Porchay was astonished as he saw six BMWs parked in a row, all lined up like soldiers ready for duty. And in the middle was a dark blue Bentley Continental GT Range with its sleek design and shimmering exterior.

"Come, let's go!", Kim said, making Porchay snap out of his awe-struck state.

"Kh...Khab", he said as he made his way towards the luxurious car. All the bodyguards bowed respectfully as they opened the door for them.

As they started the drive through the bustling streets of Manhattan, Porchay couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and excitement. He admired the view as the car made its way through the vibrant city.

The drive from the airport to Manhattan was about thirty-one minutes. Soon the car pulled up to the entrance of a stylish apartment building in the heart of Manhattan.

Kim and Porchay got out of the car as the bodyguards opened the doors for them. Porchay was again astonished by the grandeur and opulence of the apartment building.

The bodyguards moved Porchay's and Kim's bags to the apartment while Porchay followed Kim in awe-struck amazement, taking in every detail of their surroundings.

Kim led Porchay to the kitchen and served him milk and some biscuits while he sat in front of him, watching him savor the treats while he drank his black coffee.

"Khun Kim Khab", said Franco, his bodyguard. "We have placed the bags in the room, as instructed by you."

"Okay, you can leave now. I will call you if we need anything"

"Khab", Franco said and bowed and left.

After Porchay finished his small snack, he looked at Kim and asked, "So, P'Kim, when are we going to the dorm?"

Kim looked at him and said, "Umm...well there is...umm...no dorms vacant anywhere near the college campus at this moment"

Porchay looked at him worriedly and asked, "So what do we do now?"

"Well you can stay here", Kim declared confidently.

"What?!", Porchay asked in shock.

"Why? Are you scared to share the same roof with me?", Kim asked playfully, with a mischievous smile on his face.
