it's been 5 days since the whole confronting the past thing. it was 5 am in the morning and garou was at the kitchen at the 1-a dorm and was making himself breakfast. midoriya got downstairs and greeted garou
Midoriya- "Good morning, Mr. Garou," he greeted, the words accompanied by genuine warmth.
Garou, glancing over his shoulder, raised an eyebrow at midoriya.
Garou- "Kid, why are you up so early? Don't you have school in about three hours or something?" he asked, his tone laced with curiosity.
Midoriya's eyes lit up with enthusiasm as he explained,
Midoriya- "Well, today is the weekend, so I'm not worried about school. Plus, we have guests coming!" He finished with an excitement.
Garou- "ughhh shi-" was the only thing he could say
the doorbell rang and midoriya bounced towards the door
Midoriya- "YES! Melissa is here!" he exclaimed with joy, hurrying to open the door.
Inside, the atmosphere was one of warm reunion and friendly introductions. Dr Shield, greeted by Midoriya, reciprocated the sentiment with a smile that radiated kindness.
Dr Shield- "Ah, Midoriya... it's so nice to see you again," he replied, clasping Midoriya's hand with a firm shake.
melissa from begind couldn't contain her excitement. She rushed forward, her presence filling the room with vivacity.
Melissa- "DEKU!" she exclaimed behind her father, giving Midoriya in a tight hug. "It's been a long time since the I-Island trip. How have you been?"
she asked, her eyes twinkling with fondness.
Midoriya blushed, momentarily taken aback by Melissa's sudden action, but he quickly regained his composure.
Midoriya- "I-it's nice to see you too, Melissa," he managed, a warm smile gracing his features.
Meanwhile, Garou joined the small gathering, his presence giving a dark vibe. With a casual air, he addressed Dr Shield, his gaze tinged with a hint of uninterest.
Garou- "So, you're David Shield, huh? The scientist Aizawa told me to protect?" he asked, his voice carrying a bored undertone.
Dr Shield acknowledged him with a friendly nod.
David- "Yes, and I assume you must be Mr. Garou. It's nice to meet you. Mr. Aizawa mentioned you before sending me here. I hope we have a great time," he offered, extending his hand in greeting.
Garou reciprocated the handshake, his demeanour composed yet distant.
Garou- "Yeah, hope so."
As introductions unfolded, Melissa's curiosity piped. She leaned towards Midoriya, her voice a hushed whisper.
Melissa- "Deku, who's that?" she asked, her eyes fixed on Garou.
Midoriya responded in kind, offering a quiet explanation.
Midoriya- "Oh, that's Mr. Garou, our combat teacher at UA. He joined recently and was tasked with protecting us while Mr. Aizawa is on a mission."
Melissa nodded in understanding, her gaze returning to Garou, silently observing him. There was an unspoken feeling in her eyes, a desire to learn more about the lone wolf.
Melissa remained alone with Garou, a silent understanding passing between them. but melissa hesitated, a touch of shyness holding her back.
Melissa- "So, you're a teacher huh?" she asked trying to make a small talk.
Garou glanced over at her, meeting her gaze with a calm expression.
Garou- "Yeah," he answered as he was making breakfast
Its 10 am now and everyone at class 1-a were awake doing their daily routine. They came downstairs and saw Garou on one of the dining minding his own business and melissa watching tv.
They greeted melissa and had a chat with her about the whole league of villains situation.
Mina- "so what are you going to do now..."
Melissa- "we'll stay here for a week or so until things get better. Thanks for Gar... *blushes slightly* Mr Garou... he will be keeping us safe.
Yaoyorozu- "wait... melissa why did you—uhm... never mind" she said awkwardly as she had realised what just happened.
Mina- "hold on- melissa you're all red... wait... don't tell me..." she screams excitingly. "So, you like Mr Garou?" she asked teasingly.
Melissa at this point was screaming in her head trying to change the topic but the girls wouldn't.
Melissa- "w-w-WHAT! NO NO NO NO NO! of course not. I don't like Mr Garou. He's a mysterious man and besides I don't have any feelings for him". She said while blushing like crazy.
Mina's teasing grin only widened, sensing the genuine embarrassment in Melissa's response. The other girls in the room couldn't help but chuckle at the situation.
Mina- "Aww, come on, Melissa! It's okay to have a little crush. He is cool, after all!" she chimed, her playful tone dancing in the air.
Melissa's protests grew more fervent, her cheeks aflame with the effort to deny something she hadn't quite figured out herself.
Melissa- "I swear, there's nothing like that! He's just... interesting. That's all!"
As the banter continued, Garou caught some of the conversation from his place at the dining table. It was hard not to be amused by the situation, but he kept his expression carefully neutral.
Uraraka- "Well, whatever it is, we're all glad you and your dad are safe here, Melissa."
Tsu- "Ribbit! And we're all thankful for Mr. Garou keeping an eye out for you guys!"
Melissa, now less flustered, smiled warmly at her new friends.
Melissa- "Thank you, everyone. It means a lot to us."
Mina- "Well, Melissa, if you ever do figure out this whole 'interesting' thing, you'll have a bunch of overeager matchmakers right here!" Mina teased, winking mischievously.
Melissa couldn't help but laugh, her earlier blush now a mere memory.
Meanwhile with Garou...
Garou POV- "UGHHH. WHAT THE?! WHY IS MY HEART RACING?! Jeez I'm not supposed to be a lovey dovey on her goddammit- I should be protecting her. FUCK... GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER GAROU!
garou's mind was blowing and his heart racing like a jet trying to overcome this new feeling he had experienced... for some reason he couldn't stop
as he watched Melissa and listened to her laughter, he couldn't help the unusual flutter in his chest, the inexplicable quickening of his heart. It was a sensation that defied the very core of his being.
Garou POV- "No, no, no, no, NO! I can't let this happen. I'm not here for personal reasons. I'm here to protect."
Yet, his gaze was still drifted towards Melissa, he couldn't deny the undeniable attraction he felt, one he couldn't quite comprehend.
Garou POV- "Interesting? She called me interesting... Maybe I should try to understand this more."
In the living room, the friendly chatter continued, the students and melissa growing closer with eachother. among it all, Garou's feelings towards melissa became an unspoken secret, one that would accompany him on this unexpected journey and, perhaps, something more.
