"Yes! Yes! I got in!" Orla jumped and screamed when she saw Orla Taylor written, second from the top, on the list.

"Oh yes, so did I!" James imitated her voice, leading to the girl shoving him then hugging him.

As she looked around she saw Emily and Stephanie jumping up and down, Riley hugging Chloe, Daniel and Tiffany talking with Michelle, and Eldon with West.

She also saw Giselle, her back turned to the group, tears in her eyes.

Orla bit her lip as Emily went over and spoke to the girl. She'll blame Michelle, Orla realised, as she watched the two girls talk.

She sighed, amused as she watched Beth, the girl who had messed up in the auditions, try to get James. She dated him for about a week when both Orla and James were still in B-Troupe and then when he broke up with her she would not get over him.

Orla sighed, turning back round to chat with Michelle as she felt a hand on her back.

"Excuse me?" She asked, as she found Emily with a hand on her back.

"Hey Orla, I just want to say congrats on making it in," Emily said.

"Yeah, like you weren't praying I would get kicked down to B-Troupe," Orla rolled her eyes.

"Can I just talk to Michelle alone for a second?" Emily asked.

"You sure can," Orla rolled her eyes and walked off to say congrats to Riley and Chloe.

It was only when she saw Michelle walk away from Emily with a confused and sad look on her face that she thought maybe she shouldn't've left her alone.

After the first rehearsal in which the eleven excited dancers did a first dance and some practice exercises, Orla, James and Eldon went and taught a baby ballet class.

"Okay, okay, round and round!" Orla laughed, as she, James and Eldon joined hands with all the little kids and went round in a circle.

"Being in A-Troupe carries over some responsibilities, which means that sometimes, James, Eldon and I teach a J-Troupe or baby ballet class," Orla explained. "But it doesn't feel like we're working at all because the kids are so cute!"

But today, as Eldon and Orla taught the class, James sat out and did some homework.

"I'm doing some math homework because, I'm actually doing pretty bad in math at the moment, but that's on the down low," James said. "I mean, I don't wanna be doing maths homework, I'd rather be doing what Eldon and Orla are doing but... I gotta do it."

"Orla?" James asked. "What's with the little number on top of the other number? The expo-nent?"

"Expo-nent, really?" This was past being amusing for Orla.

"Exponent!" She hissed.

"Exponent!" James nodded. "What is it, though?"

"These kids could probably do math better than you, James," Orla said quietly, as she explained what it was.

"I tell him stuff over and over and he just doesn't get it!" She shouted.

"And if it's two to the power of three you do two times two times two," she finished.

"But... but what if it's a letter to the power of two, what?" James looked up. "Why is there a letter?"
