Orla watched as Emily flipped mindlessly through a magazine at the doctor's.
"Are you reading a Wire and Circuit magazine?" Orla questioned her best friend after a few seconds.
"Um, yeah, yeah I am," Emily gave her a quick smile. "It- it's really interesting."
"Right now I'm at the doctor's office with Orlie," explained Emily. "I'm here to hopefully get the news that my knee has recovered enough so I can dance on it. I have to dance against Elite for a spot on the Internationals team."
"I really need this to work out, y'know?" Emily sighed.
"I know," Orla smiled warmly at her. "And it will, Ems. Or it better."
Emily giggled.
"I really hope the appointment goes well for Ems today, I can't imagine her getting more bad news," sighed Orla.
"Just relax, okay?" The girl told her best friend. "This is all going to work out. Plus, if anyone can take on Elite, even with an injury, it's you."
Emily gave Orla a side hug. "Thanks, Orlie."
"Emily?"
The two girls turned to see the doctor, calling Emily. "Come on in."
"Okay, I'll find you after?" Orla smiled at her best friend, who smiled.
"Thanks."
"Basically my whole future as a dancer is riding on this doctor's appointment. If I don't get the all-clear... I don't know what I'll do."

Orla was now the one flipping through the Wire and Circuit magazine as she waited for Emily.
However, when her best friend did emerge, she had a fake smile on her face and said. "Orlie, come on, let's go."
"Okay, okay..." Orla gave a small smile to her and put the magazine down, Emily practically pulling her up and out the door.
"What happened?" Orla finally asked her.
"No worries, I'm... I'm fine," Emily smiled.
Once they got outside they began a slow walk through the park, and then Orla finally plucked up the courage to ask. "So how bad is it?"
"Can we just not talk about it?" Emily suggested.
They walked a few more steps before Orla finally gave in and asked it.
"You can't dance, can you, Ems?"
Emily turned to look at her, a pleading look in her eyes, but she didn't say anything. Orla had to fill in the gaps in the conversation. "So, are you gonna tell Miss Kate?"
"No!" Emily exclaimed, a sparkly behind her eyes. "No one can know about this!"
Orla shook her head. "Ems, you can't dance on it-"
She stopped at Emily holding her arm, and turned to look at the girl, that same pleading look back. "Promise you won't tell anyone?"
"I can't believe Ems wants me to keep this a secret," Orla shook her head. "What am I supposed to do? She's put me in such a bad position."
