Since tonight was the night of the trio competition and Miss Kate was away, Orla and Emily had volunteered to clean the mirrors in Studio A.
So there they were, spray and cloths in hand, half way through cleaning them all.
So far, Orla had heard about all the major drama, including Emily breaking up with Hunter, which, as far as Orla could understand, was orchestrated by Amanda, even though Emily never told her that directly.
But now they were just discussing mindless drama.
"So, yeah, my dad wanted me to take him shopping, because that mustard colour shirt was just not working," Emily shook her her.
0
"No, not at all," Orla agreed with a laugh, having previously seen a photo of the shirt."I hate it when things don't work. It's the worst."
Orla turned to see James. "Can I talk to you for a sec?" He asked her, Emily glaring at him still.
"Yeah," Orla nodded.
"Good luck," Emily said stiffly as she passed.
"Okay," James said to her.
"I've decided to do the task that scares me the most.""Number seven?" Asked Orla.
"Number ten! Get to know Emily!" James said disgustedly.
"I am kinda scared in getting to know Emily because it's gonna be a chore," James shook his head. "It's gonna be hard to deal with, because she's hard to deal with."
"I know James and Emily aren't really friends at all, so I wrote it into the list that he has to get to know her because if we start dating again, I want my best friend and boyfriend to at least approve of each other," Orla rolled her eyes.
"Okay, you have to find out one thing about her, that I don't know," Orla said.
"One thing?" James checked.
"Yeah, one thing," Orla nodded, confident it would still be too hard for him to just get it.
"Done, let's do it," smiled James.
"Okay," Orla grinned.
"Guess I'm cleaning mirrors then," James said, taking Orla's spray and bottle from her.
"Good luck," she told him as she headed out to Culture Shock to get a juice.
"I've known Emily since we were two, and I also would consider her the most stubborn person I know," Orla smirked. "So I don't know how easy this is gonna be for him."
"Hey!" James exclaimed, heading towards Emily.
"Hey..." Emily.said quietly.
"I feel like we don't talk enough," James said to her.
"I feel like we talk a lot, like, maybe too much," Emily frowned.
"I disagree," James sighed. "Which is why I'm gonna take Orla's spot and finish cleaning with you."
"Okay," Emily sighed. "Um, you're gonna have to do the tops of all the mirrors though."
"I'd love to do the tops!" James exclaimed.
Emily wasn't compelled to laugh.

They had been cleaning for about ten minutes when James said. "I'm having so much fun."
