"Attention dancers! Attention, please!" Chris said, as he and Kate walked into the studio.
"Some exciting news," Kate said, as all the dancers started to get up. "It looks like we are going to be competing at a local dance competition this weekend."
Everyone started to clap as this was pretty big news, almost as though they were practicing for Regionals.
"Oh and to switch things up a bit, I'm going to change the line positions," Kate said. "You'll perform for Chris and I and then I'll make the decision."
Orla saw Emily and Stephanie frown at each other.
"I don't know what Kate is trying to pull right now, but there is absolutely no way I'm letting her take this responsibility away from me," Emily said firmly. "I am the dance captain."

Orla rolled her eyes as she saw Emily in the office talking to Kate. "She's trying to find a way to run the auditions," she told James.
"Yeah, but Kate wouldn't let her- oh no," he said, as Emily and Stephanie came out of the office, Stephanie with a clipboard in hand.
"Alright everybody, are you ready?" Emily called out.
"Yeah, ready for Kate and Chris," Orla said, a fake smile on her face.
"Well, I'm sorry Orla, but they're not coming, Stephanie and I are running the auditions," Emily flashed a fake smile back at her. "Okay, so the order is Chloe, Tiffany West, Daniel, Eldon, James, Stephanie, Riley, Michelle, then Orla."
Chloe went first as the music started and she did a good sort of ballet/contemporary solo.
"Dance placement is an indicator or hierarchy in the studio," Emily explained.
Tiffany did a very good audition next, but she didn't use much emotion or technique.
When West went, he had absolutely no technique, but his flash just took over and it was great.
"If you are placed in the front row it basically means that you're one of the strongest dancers," Riley said.
Daniel was a very good dancer, and he managed to fuse both some hip hop choreo and some ballet and contemporary.
James went next and Orla was happy to clap for him. He did really well.
"And, if you're in the back, it's kinda like a diss," Chloe said.
Stephanie did an average audition, but Orla knew Emily would write something nothing less than amazing for her on the clipboard.
Eldon, as well, did amazing, but at the end, he turned his head to Emily and gave her a look which made Orla laugh, and the blonde girl scrunch her nose up.
Riley wasn't the best, in all, as she forgot her choreo halfway through the audition. She also fell during a jump. Now normally, this would cost a dancer, but because Riley was Emily's sister and an E-Girl... no one knew what would happen.
At the end of her audition both Emily and Stephanie clapped and everyone else just nervously put their hands together a few times.
