A few days after

Hyunjin's pov 

I was walking to the prince, his chamber, to bring him some food and to drink because he hadn't eaten or drunk for a few days

A few days after the terrible news, we got that king died. He died on the battlefield because he tried to save some of his man. He did save them, but  he gave his life

The Queen and the prince locked themselves into their chambers, and they didn't eat or drink nor did they let someone accompany them

I knocked on the door of the prince Chambers

"Your grace, I brought your favourite food and something to drink.. can I come in?" I asked him, but I didn't get any response

"Your grace, please, you have to eat or drink something.. I'm worried about you, " I said, and again, I didn't get any response

"I'll leave it here on the ground for you" I said as I put the tray on the ground, and I walked away from his chambers

I walked to the library where my handmaiden was

I saw my handmaiden reading a book with Lady Griffin, the librarian. She saw me, and she smiled

"Oh hey Hyunjin" she said and she closed her book that she was reading
Jaehaera looked up

"How is the prince?" She asked

"He didn't want to drink or eat nor I could come in" I said

"That's not good" she said as she closed her book

"Losing someone could make terrible things  or worse" Lady Griffin

"Worse?" Jaehaera asked

"Yeah, worse, you never heard of the Queen who lost her son and her husband?" She asked, and she shook her head

"Before Chan's mother, the Queen there was a queen who lost her eldest son and her husband on the battlefield, when she heard about her son and husband deaths, she collapsed and the remained her in chambers for a month

She would not let anyone enter her chambers not even her bedmaids. She didn't eat, drink or let anyone accompany her, the madness inside her grew

Eventually she was too depressed and traumatised that  she flung herself from the balcony in her chamber and she got impaled by spikes, one through her throat and other through her stomach because of the grief of losing a child and a husband" lady Griffin said and Jaehaera and I were both silent

"You are probably now wondering who became the new king or queen after her death? Her daughter succeeded her and she became queen of Empiria but not for long because the noble men said that a woman can't rule a kingdom and I would let to a rebellion and that man was better choice so the few days crowned queen  got removed and her younger brother a boy 13 took her place, the prince Chan his great grandfather" lady Griffin said

(Misogyny, how refreshing)

"What happened to the older daughter?" I asked her

"They said she left the capital with her dragon to go to the east and nobody excatly know what happened, some said she died there and others are still speculating that she still lives" she said

"What will happen if the next ruling king has only daughters?" Jaehaera asked and I looked at her and then to lady Griffin

"If the next ruling king so that would prince Chan, his next relative male family/ descant will rule and the daughters of him will not become queens" she said and she looked at me

"But what if king decides to choose his daughter as his heir and become next in line of his succession?" Jaehaera asked

"Then the princess would become queen, but it will have consequences," Lady Griffin said as she got off her chair

"Who wants to go with me to get some fresh air?" She asked with a smile

"Can I go?" Jaehaera asked and I nodded

"Of course." I smiled and they left the library and I walked to the window of the library and I looked outside

I saw one dragon flying in the sky, it was the dragon of Chan's niece, demeanor

Dragons are wonderful and intelligent  creatures, and chan once said to me that a dragon only will bond to one rider but how did his dragon allow me to ride her

(Good question, any ideas?)

The words of the old lady from the festival few days still keep me thinking

One thing is sure I'm going to wed a nobleman from Strong House, *ugh* Prince of the Empiria

"But what will I own that nobody else has?" I thought as I looked up in the sky, and I saw the dragon, Demeanor flying down back to the dragonpit

"A dragon?" I thought as my eyes widened
