Savi didn't know why, but she was actually looking forward to going to school the next day. So far, though, she had to hide her excitement, since her parents didn't even know about Cerulean and she didn't intend to tell them. Seri, knowing Savi as she did, knew something was up, but for once, the nosy six-year-old decided to pretend nothing was happening. She even didn't annoy Savi as much at breakfast. Savi winked at her sister before leaving, the wink promising her she'd tell her everything. And Seri's smile was huge as she bid Savi goodbye. Maybe she'd finally found out how to get things for herself. Play nice. Savi was a big softie.

She reached school before her brain finally processed what she'd just done. She'd gone to school willingly and she was sitting next to Harmony. But hopefully Cerulean was early, and Harmony was late. Savi didn't hate Harmony exactly, but she was a very bratty person and annoying to be with. Savi wasn't sure how kind Aunt Biana had ended up with such a snooty daughter, but Sophie was constantly telling her that Harmony behaved exactly the way Biana used to before they became friends.

No luck. In fact, bad luck. Via had plopped herself down in Savi's vacated seat and was chatting animatedly with Harmony, but she got up the moment she saw Savi. "Oh, hey, Savi! Harmony and I were just talking about-"

"Something that is none of your business," Harmony snarled.

Via looked shocked. "There's no need to be so unfriendly."

"Did you know she talks to Cerulean?" Harmony demanded.

Via looked surprised and slightly offended. "Of course I did, but why wouldn't she?"

"Via, Cerulean is a Tsynis," Harmony hissed.

Via's eyes opened wide, and she gritted her teeth before choking out, "Well, uh, what's wrong with that?" But then she muttered something to Harmony and walked away with her.

Savi was seriously getting sick of being the only one not to know something, so she slipped over to the database. She found all the names there but was trying to find the search function when Cerulean arrived, and she hastily scrambled away from the computer database and pretended she'd been sitting on her chair the whole time.

Cerulean eyed her. "Some panic you're showing, Savi."

"I thought you weren't an Empath," Savi forced out.

Cerulean nodded. "I'm not. I manifested as a Hydrokinetic yesterday evening."

"Well, something matches your name," Savi teased, but Cerulean disregarded the statement.

"So, why are you panicked?" he asked. He sounded genuinely curious, but also slightly suspicious. "And why'd you scoot away from the database like there's no tomorrow?"

"Um..." Savi mumbled, wondering if she'd get into trouble if she told him the truth. She wouldn't be in hot soup with the teachers since what she'd been planning to do wasn't exactly wrong, but... it would be dangerous to let Cerulean know.

Then again... he was her friend when nobody else was.

And again, he was the reason no one else was approaching her.

But Cerulean was probably as lonely as her, since everyone was prejudiced against her family.

"If you really need to know..." Savi fidgeted with her fingers. "You won't hate me after this?"

"I can't promise anything," Cerulean said, shoving his jet black hair out of his eyes. "But... I won't get mad, or yell."

"Okay." Savi took a deep breath. "I was going to research your family and find out why everyone hates them."
