Chapter 9

Kenji lay in his bed thinking about the previous day's training and Chitayna's surprise attack. 'Chitayna caught me off guard through speed,since she's an anthropomorphic Cheetah like me."
He then thought deeper about it deciding that that must not be the only way she snuck up on him. "That is not it though, I am faster than her since my age advantage after all.

Thinking even deeper he thought back to the words *snuck up* then came to a conclusion. 'That is it!' "She used stealth,come to think of it she used to stalk me hahaha' Looking at the clock on his nightstand he saw it was fifteen minutes before wake up time in which time Kenji decided if he should get out of bed and get dressed. It was super early but still.

Kenji thinks to himself 'Okay usually one of the girls come to wake me up,I am up early though'. He thought it over in his head for a while weighing the pros and cons of getting up early. 'I think I could get up now since I'm not tired anymore,there's no cons so I'll get up' Getting up he puts on a short sleeve shirt and some short pants and leaves his room and locks.

Five minutes later at the dining table
Kenji was eating in silence since he was alone until he felt a pair of arms circle around his neck. "Hehehe guess who?"

Kenji smiles despite the blush on his face and says "It's Kireitsune isn't it? "It's definitely Kireitsune". Turns out he was correct as Kireitsune says "Right you are" and then she kisses him on the cheek and asks him "how are you this morning Kenji-Dono?" and Kenji "I am chilled and you?" he says despite his face taking on a bright new shade of red at that moment.

Kireitsune then apologizes  saying "Sorry for making you blush and feel uncomfortable Kenji-Dono". Hearing the regret in her voice hurt him,he hugs her arms warmly and assures her "It's okay Kireitsune,it is not even your fault, I just am a blusher when it comes to pretty girls showing me physical affection so don't even worry about it". He didn't like her being sad.

Kireitsune then asks "Okay Kenji-Dono, may I keep giving you surprise hugs and kisses then?"

Kenji says Liking the thought more then he ever lets on as he smiles "Of course you may Kireitsune."

Kireitsune then says "Okay but that's my limit for breakfast,I need to be fair to the other girls." but Kenji replies "Oh I'm sure they'd understand but okay" as he gives her arms one last warm squeeze. Kireitsune says giving one last squeeze too "Okay then thank you hehe" and she sits down to eat her own food seeing as breakfast is the most important meal of the day

Kenji feels mischievous and smirks at her while saying "You really are considerate aren't ya Kireitsune?" making Kireitsune think 'Is this really Kenji?' and ask "Ya flirting with me?" as she flirts back to which Kenji asks "So what if I am? You are doing it back anyway" as he shows his canines playfully making her giggle at his silliness and his playfulness.

Kireitsune then says "Yes and I'm enjoying it, though we are acting out of character" as she also shows her canines playfully to which Kenji states "We are allowed to have a bit of fun, are we not?" while teasingly reaching for her hand with which Kireitsune then agrees by saying "Oh yes we do right?" as she does the same and intertwines their fingers.

Kenji plays with Kireitsune's fingers
and Kireitsune does the same. Blushes soon cross their faces,letting go of each others fingers they burst out laughing with Kenji saying "I can't believe we just acted in that way Kireitsune" as he laughs hard

Kireitsune agrees "Yeah and to think I flirted back,innocent me flirting!" as she laughs too. A few minutes later the others arrive to see them laughing and look at them confused at which Kenji laughs and asks "Why are all of you looking at us like we are crazy".
Kireitsune also still laughs and says "Yeah you should seriously see your faces right now" as she looks at them.

The others begin to chuckle then they too burst out laughing, laughter filled the dining room. Kenji stops laughing from reaching his limit of laughter for the morning. Kireitsune also stops laughing for the same reason Kenji stopped for. Everyone else's laughter soon fades away as they fail to find a source for the laughter. That is why it died down after the two stopped

Hyōna then asks "So do you two mind telling us what you were laughing at?" as she smirks at Kenji. Kenji and Kireitsune noticing Hyōna's attempt at a sexy smirk chuckles just ever so slightly after which Kenji says "It is an inside joke" making Kireitsune add "So you won't get it." After another few minutes of trying to get them to spit it out and failing they start eating.

Ten min later outside on a bench
Kenji and Tora were chatting while Kireitsune and the others kept busy in different groups. Kenji asks Tora "So Tora, why aren't you hanging with the other girls,like, are they boring you?
to which Tora says "No they aren't,I just want to learn to know you better is all Kenji-san" timidly which Kenji found very cute and adorable.

Kenji then states "Well I enjoy your company and yeah I want to learn to know you better too" while smiling).

[With Tsukiko,Gina and Akane]

Tsukiko asks the other two "So what do you two think Kenji-kun and Tora are chatting about on that bench?"
to which Gina says "I do know Tora feels like she's flying among shining stars in Kenji-kun's company" and Akané agrees saying "Yeah just like the rest of us, when we are with Kenji-kun our blood pumps much faster." with her red colored analogy

[With Kireitsune and Yukino]

Kireitsune says "I wonder what Kenji-Dono and Tora-chan are chatting about outside" and Yukino says "Well we know she feels much much more confident around Kenji-kun,could be anything." Which is true from what they know about Tora after having known her for such a very long time as they have learned to know her so very well.

[With Hyōna and Shishana]

Hyōna says 'It bothers me that I can't find out what earlier's laughter was all about and Shishana says "Yeah but don't think about it too much okay? We got some laughter in too alright?" which was true considering that they most definitely did get in some laughter from the whole situation as well which meant that they should be at the very least somewhat satisfied.

[Chitayna and Jackie]

Chitayna says to Jackie "You know I always talk about me and Kenji being destiny? That is all talk even though it probably really is destiny that made us all meet him" Jackie then assures her by saying "Don't worry Chitayna you are as in love with him as all of us are so we understand how you strongly you feel about him" finally admitting she really likes Kenji

[Back to Kenji and Tora]

Kenji and Tora sat there talking about why she is so shy and how she feels so much more comfortable and safe when he is around and that she feels she can take on the world with him next to her,suddenly a huge explosion of dust and rocks rocked them,the other girls rushed outside to check and everyone stood ready for any danger nearby.
