Chapter 15 - Y/n's pov

((A/N : sorry i was late, i was working at a craft fair yesterday :,D -- tomorrows chapter will still release tomorrow.)) 

I looked into the chasm that had swallowed King and Eda, my eyes wide. I hadn't expected that. Amity ran up beside Hunter and I.

"No!" she shouted, and reached out a hand, as if it would bring back King and Eda

Amity got onto her staff, I could hear Kiki's patrol behind us. I started to panic, her patrol couldn't find us, we'd be screwed. "Wait!" I said "Please, take us with you."
Hunter looked surprised at my idea, but didn't say anything.

"Yoo-hoo! Golden Guard? Or should I even call you that?" Kiki called behind us

"At least untie us so we can escape!" I pleaded with Amity, who looked at her staff "Please. I don't want to be replaced." my hands shook. I could see the concern on Hunter's face, but I ignored it.

"UGH. Fine." Amity said, casting a spell circle, taking back her abomination goo. We were able to move freely again.

"So where will you go now?" Amity asked

"Now..." I began then grinned and kicked Amity's legs from beneath her, knocking her over. "...Hunter and I get to eclipse lake before anyone!"

I jumped into a minecart, Hunter following me. "BYEEEE!" I shouted behind us as we rolled down the tracks.

"THAT JERK" I heard Amity say behind us

I leaned against the side of the cart, Hunter watched me.

"Are you.....alright?" he asked "You haven't exactly been acting like yourself"

"Oh I'm fine, once I prove that I'm worthy of staying where I am everything is going to be perfect again!" I felt my eye twitch as I spoke

"I-" Hunter hesitated "Alright."

The track stopped short and I flew forward, I almost fell out but Hunter caught me just a half moment before I did. I felt my face go hot as I climbed out and thanked him.

We stood in front of a large empty pit. Empty. Completely. I walked into the pit, followed by Hunter.

"There's no titans blood" I said, my voice wavering. This is what I'd been counting on. If I get the blood Belos will keep me as his right hand but...there's nothing here. I felt tears edge my eyes, and I started shaking. "I-I don't understand...."

Hunter wrapped his arms around me "It'll be okay" he murmured

I cried onto his shoulder "I-I-I-I don't want to be replaced" I said

"I know" he said "None of us have any control over whats going to happen, Y/N. I've been trying to show you that"

He let me go and looked into my eyes. For a moment we both stood there, staring. Slowly we both leaned forward, was this what it felt like to love someone? Our faces were so close, but we were interrupted by footsteps, both of us sprang backwards. I saw Amity at the top of the ledge.

"Uh- Hey Blight!" I said, then looked at the ground as she walked warily into the pit "Don't worry. We won't pick a fight. There's no titan's blood."

Amity seemed surprised

"I needed it. I really needed it. Belos wants to replace me with Hunter, I'm happy for him, but I've worked so hard to get the role I have. I thought that if I brought titan's blood for a new portal key I might be able to......"

I heard Amity say something inaudible

"I might be able to keep my job, but now I'm going to come back empty handed, and I'll at best become a scout instead." I finished
