Tah'Jae sat in English class, bored out of her mind, yearning for the school day to end. Uninterestedly jotting down notes from the PowerPoint her teacher was reading, she made no effort to comprehend the material.
Things at home had been weird for the past few weeks. Chanel had become stricter and more overprotective than usual, driving Tah'Jae insane. Klay had talked to her one on one, convincing her to cut her older sister some slack, but Tah'Jae was starting to get irritated.
She could barely hang out with Prince after school or on weekends, and she had to be home as soon as school let out. She felt like she was receiving the treatment of someone on punishment when she had done absolutely nothing to deserve it.
As the end-of-period bell rang, Tah'Jae gladly left the classroom and met up with Prince at his locker, giving him a small hug. "Hey, cutie," he greeted her.
