Night Out

Me, Kyra and Less arrived home not too long ago and straight away started to get ready for tonight. The three of us piled in our bathroom, around the sink painting our faces with makeup while simply chatting about life. The conversation swiftly moved onto the night ahead of us and what to wear. I had no idea.

"I might just wear jeans" Kyra started the conversation.

"Hmm, I was thinking a skirt or a dress" Lessi replied, looking at me through the mirror for my opinion.

"Don't look at me, I have no idea" I replied, throwing my hands up in the air in a strop. My two best friends simply laughed at me before we all headed to get changed.

I was sitting cross legged on my bed, pulling piles of clothes out of my wardrobe and draws. Still not getting closer to having any idea what I was going to wear. Eventually, I decided on an all black outfit consisting of a tube top and mini skirt.

I'd obviously taken longer than I thought deciding on what to wear as I was still getting dressed when Less and Kyra started shouting at me telling me that we had to go because the taxi was here

I'd obviously taken longer than I thought deciding on what to wear as I was still getting dressed when Less and Kyra started shouting at me telling me that we had to go because the taxi was here. I quickly ran downstairs, grabbed my bag and threw my lipgloss, mascara and phone in it before pulling my boots on.

The three of us were the last to arrive at the pub, so there was a limited seating selection. Kyra and Less squished on one side of the booth next to Beth, leaving me to the other side of the booth. Katie was perched on the end, looking pretty comfortable in her conversation with Lotte until our eyes locked and her face screwed up. Great.

Trying to avoid sitting next to Katie, I asked if anyone wanted a drink. Most of the girls politely declined as they already had one but Kyra, Less and Beth said they'd come with me. The four of us set off to the bar while Beth chewed our ears off talking about god knows what. That subject was quickly changed though as we reached the bar and placed our orders. As we were walking back, Beth assured me I wouldn't have to sit next to Katie for long as Viv had planned for us to all go to the new club down the road. A few people had said the club was a bit sketchy but I honestly wasn't worried about that, I just wanted to get as far away from Katie as quickly as I could.

We got back to the table quickly enough and I barely had time to finish my drink before Viv was dragging everyone out. She was very tipsy already which got my wondering how long she had already been here. She seamed very excited about this new club so we all followed her out the pub and down the road. I walked alongside Lotte, Jen and Steph. It wasn't too far to walk, so I couldn't really get into a deep conversation with the girls but I still enjoyed their company.

As soon as we arrived outside the club, I didn't feel right. I had that feeling again, the one I had before the game against Ireland. The one I get  when I know something bad is going to happen. I simply ignored it and blamed it on the alcohol. The club was very busy, normal for a new club I guess.

It seemed like a few other footballers had the same idea as us. We bumped into Beth England, Grace Clinton and a few other Tottenham girls as we walked through the metal doors of the club. All us England girls stopped to catch up while the rest of our team went to get a booth. I embraced Grace in a side hug, she was one of my close friends when on England camps and was definitely like a little sister to me. Throughout our conversation, I couldn't help but feel like we were being watched. I turned around and caught Katie staring, not at me but at Grace. If looks could kill, Grace would be long gone. I just swivelled myself back around and continued my conversation with Grace, Less and Leah. I think Leah had also noticed Katie staring.

"What's her problem?" Leah lent and whispered in my ear, clearly referring to Katie. I just shrugged.

"Don't let her ruin your night" Leah added patting my arm. I could feel Katie's glare getting more intense, if that was even possible.

After that, our conversations quickly came to a close and we left our fellow lionesses to go back to our teammates. Leah sat next to me in the booth and Laura was on my other side so I was happy. After a while of small talk, I'd had enough of Katie glaring at me so I got up and headed to the bar for a drink. I really wish I hadn't though.

There were two bartenders at the bar, a young girl about 19 and an older one about 30. I walked up to the older lady to order.

"Hi, can I get a vodka lemonade please?" I asked her as I pulled out a bar stool to sit on.

"Sure, one second" She replied. I relaxed into the stool, she seemed nice enough. I was wrong. She came back after whispering a few words to the younger girl over the other side of the bar.

"What's a pretty girl doing here by yourself then?" She asked, smirking at me. I just laughed uncomfortably.

"My mates are over there" I replied, quickly turning my head and pointing to the booth where most of the girls were sitting.

"Ah right, well your drinks on us." She added, reaching over to touch my arm. I was growing more and more uncomfortable. She just kept flirting, was she on something? Could she not see how uncomfortable she was making me?

"Have you got a girlfriend?" She asked me, as she handed me my drink. I simply shook my head and stood up trying to get myself out of this situation. She grabbed my hand and sat me back down.

"No, don't go yet. let's get to know eachother!" She said sternly. "My shift finishes in half an hour, I can show you around." She added softly.

"Um, I should really be getting back to my friends, sorry" I replied while forcing a smile.

"Oh come on..." The lady behind the bar said again, really not giving up. Suddenly, I felt a strong hand grab my arm. I heard a voice, one that I recognised quite well. Katie. The last person I expected to help me out of this situation.

"She said no, come on y/n" Katie said sternly as she pulled me away from the bar. I quickly thanked her before we continued the walk back to the booth in silence. I was in shock, nothing like that had ever happened to me before and I hope it never happens again. As we were walking, I couldn't help but stare at Katie. It was the first time I'd properly looked at her all night and wow she looked gorgeous. Breathtaking actually, her hair was tied in a hight pony tail and she was wearing light blue jeans and a white corset. I quickly shook these thoughts out of my head, I see Katie almost every day and I've never thought of her like this before. I hate her right?

When we got back to the booth, Lessi could tell something was up as she quickly pulled me to the side and asked what happened. I explained as quickly as I could and she said she'd get Kyra to call and Uber and we'd go home. I was thankful that I had two amazing best friends that cared for me.
