Chapter 73: Novel Festivities

3rd POV

Yap: [Or rather... me, I suppose. I might not know why those visions are displayed to me but.. I will- no. I must prevent it from happening.]

With a strengthened resolve, the Blizzardfrost Knight continued on his day.

Yap: [I should probably jot this down in case if I do end up forgetting about this..]

Changing the topic, Yap decides to ask them what they've gathered and their further plans.

Paimon: Well, all we know currently is that we've a Kuronushi in our world. As for our plan..

Aether: Kazuha told us to wait. Said he'll be meeting someone. As for us... well, no idea? We'll probably go around the festival grounds for the time being.

Yap: Noted.. 

With that, everyone goes their separate ways, including Yap.

Yap: Eula, you'll be fine on your own, yes?

Eula: (Nods) I believe I should be. And you?

Yap: ..... I'll need some time to think about that further. Maybe getting a drink or a snack or two while I'm at it.

Eula: ... Alright.

Once everyone actually went their own ways, Yap went and bought some snacks, along with drinks.

Then, he searched for a place to seat and... sat.

Yap: [Different realities or timelines.. If it is possible, does this mean the Abyss is capable of doing so too? But those dots don't quite connect..]

As Yap sat in quiet contemplation, surrounded by the lively atmosphere of the Irodori Festival, his thoughts swirled like the patterns of the festival lanterns above. The visions he experienced weighed heavily on his mind, and he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this than meets the eye.

Taking a sip of his drink, Yap stared at the colorful lights dancing in the night. The festivalgoers laughed and enjoyed the festivities, seemingly unaware of the weighty matters that occupied the Blizzardfrost Knight's thoughts.

Yap: [Leo... the Frostfall Revenant... It's all connected, but how? And why me?]

Something then ticks inside him.

Yap: [Wait a minute..]

Attempting to connect the dots together, he goes with the first 2 visions.

Yap: [So I can assume the other male is that.. Leo guy or whatever. And the next.. the other me discarded the Knight's insignia.. Which means whatever that Leo guy did, it caused the other me to leave the Knights of Favonius.]

Moving onto the following visions, he again attempts to piece them together.

Yap: [They all played out like how a story would.. So if I'm getting this right..]

Taking a rather large bite from his snacks and swallowing it after properly chewing it along with some sips of his drink, it seems that he connected the dots.

Yap: [Leo will appear and potentially take Eula away from me. I then descend into madness due to jealousy, and eventually turn into the Frostfall Revenant.. And after becoming the Frostfall Revenant.. I'll eventually destroy Mondstadt. Or at least, devastate it hard enough that everyone's going to take a long time to recover from it.]

Briefly closing his eyes and putting a hand under his chin, he lets out a low chuckle.

Yap: [I see... So that was what you were trying to convey, "Frostfall Revenant". You have my thanks.]
