now, it may sound like a lovely idea for some, but for Aera, it was terrifying. the unexpected harsh sound was what made it so scary, because after every lightning strike, silence comes after, then another one, which made her flinch and clench onto the bed sheets every time.
it was about 3 and a half in the morning, and aera was still tossing around and squeezing her eyes shut, trying to force herself to sleep, but still not able to.
she stayed in bed for a moment, her eyes fluttering open as she heard no sounds of thunderstorm anymore, only rain, which made her calm down a bit, finally turning to her side to sleep—

her heart was beating fast and she a small whine left her lips as she sat up, got out of the bed and put a jacket on.
Aera opened the door to her room, making a small slightly creaking as she opened it. the lights were off and the dorms were completely silent. since she lived with 3racha and hyunjin's dorm, the only time it would be silent was when everyone was asleep, but when they were awake, even hyunjin goy chaotic. he's becoming one of the gym bros, Aera feared.
walking towards one particular room, Aera opened the door slowly to chan's room, only to find his bed empty and bed perfectly made, which made her frown.
she contemplated whether to go to the other members' rooms to stay with them, but the loud lightening strikes that got harsher only made her want chan more. so there was no other place to find him aside from the company's studio.
after putting on her shoes and leaving the dorms and locking it after her, she walked towards the studio, the dim lights of the company making it look like a horror movie, but it was okay, she was going to chan after all, he'd make her feel safe again.

after a small walk to the studio, she peeked her head through the small crack of the door, only to find a tired chan there, with all the computers open and multiple colored lights illuminating on his features, she slowly opened the door, her upper body now peeking through.
"chan..?"
her soft voice yet sudden voice made chan turn towards her, surprised at her sudden appearance yet worried to see her awake at such a time.
what a hypocrite.
"rei? what are you doing awake?" chan asked worriedly, getting up from his comfortable gaming seat and walking towards her, lightly putting his hand on the small of her back and leading her into the studio.

"ah."
he said knowingly, seeing the girl in front of him losing her shit because of the loud thunder outside only made him smile slightly and pull her into a hug, his fingers running through her hair in a comforting manner.
"it's gonna be alright, yeah? you're with me now." he said quietly, and after a few moments, he felt her calm down slightly, which made him pull away. "i'm gonna close the window, okay?" chan said as he made his way to the window, closing it. now that the window was closed and the room was completely sound-proof, Aera was calm again.
"can i stay with you?"
she asked him, taking a seat on the couch on the side of the room, a perfect view to watch him work and stay with his comforting presence.
"of course you can, i'll finish quickly then we can go back to my room, mm?" he said, getting a small blanket for her and covering her with it as she laid on the couch.
"mhm."
and with that, bang chan took a seat and continued working, this time only organizing stuff to finally leave the studio.
but 5 minutes turned to 10, and 10 turned to 20, then to 30.
bang chan groaned and laid back in his seat, stretching with a small yawn. he turned his seat to look at Aera who was silent after 20 minutes but still up.
only to find her..
asleep?
and there she was, her lips slightly parted and her eyes closed, finally asleep after all the tormenting she went through back in her room. who knew the couch was so comfortable?
the sight of the exhausted girl passed out on the couch made him smile, and he got his headphones, putting them around his neck and got his phone in his pocket before getting up and walking towards her.
crouching down to be the same height of her, chan took his time to admire her, the smile still present on his lips. the scene might look a bit creepy to some, but he couldn't help but feel his love growing for her.
how could he get so lucky having her as a member in his group?

he had a photo of Aera peacefully sleeping, definitely going to blackmail her with it later, tease her and also post it on his story on instagram. but that's for tomorrow.
as for today, he picked her up, finding her quite light to carry, and he exited the studio with her in his arms bridal style.

unlocking the door and entering, he just couldn't leave Aera alone in her room, what if she woke up again due to the thunderstorm outside?
so with that thought in mind, he opened the door to his room and put her down on his bed, tucking her in and getting into bed himself, this wasn't unusual since it happened a lot between her and the members, especially bang chan.
and with her eyes fluttering open to check what was going on, she smiled when she found herself so close to cha, her body hugging him close and with one kiss on the forehead from him to her, they finally fell asleep.
the world outside loud and and clearly not very peaceful, but Aera never felt safer than where she was now.
