here have me being a hypocrite while smad rambling about lunime (rant-ish)

guys lunime is at it with the horrible communication and active community snubbing again

just when I figured they were actually gonna get better this time too

and it's not like I haven't done the same either, if I were to state otherwise I'd absolutely be lying

but I'd at least like to think there's a difference between some random tone-deaf hobbyist teen on Wattpad who's at least attempting her best when she can find the care/drive to, even if most attempts prove bust or otherwise fall short due to her own general inexperience, and at least tries to get help/advice from other people even if it's over something arguably kinda arbitrary

(because her creative growth's been stagnant for literal years over her brain literally repeatedly calling attention to the fact she might need some therapy and her blindly blazing right past the obvious in favor of "oh it's just plot fuel/I'll get over this crushing motivation slump eventually/*eventually devolving into straight up wallowing neck-deep in her misery and not knowing/caring how to fix it other than whining*")

and a paid indie company of grown/young adults with massive reach for years at this point that should theoretically have the experience to match, but has not in fact grown with their audience when they had ample opportunity to

now I'm not saying they should sell/shill out and bend to everything their community's saying every time because that's objectively a terrible idea no matter what occupation you're in

but like, is it really that hard to at least acknowledge them when making decisions

I can't think of a single time where other than the initial app launches Lucas has actually given people the reasonable things he either promised or people actually asked for

people say to back off despite all this and I actually do agree to an extent

making things is hard, let alone on time

especially if your opinion of yourself or the world isn't exactly the best

I've been where he is and still am, so I completely get it and even see myself in that part of him

the problem is he seems to still not've had that same epiphany yet despite having far more time than me to come to terms and do so

(granted 6 years was also a really long time for me to get an actual helpful one, but teenhood's hella convoluted and cloudy developmentally - and even before that point I was overly oblivious and impressionable to just about everything)

so he's really just digging and digging himself deeper into unfinished projects and empty promises just like he was 4-5 years ago

only this time even more people are catching onto this pattern and genuinely getting upset at him for it, it's not only the neglected lore side of things that's been burned one too many times now

considering the company's general distant past, I don't think any of the still long-standing Lunime members has even processed or recognized that they aren't a batch of unseasoned freelancing(?) hobbyists in a gamedev HS/college friend group anymore (and haven't been for years since their most popular debuts)

because that would definitely explain the general unprofessionalism all across the board

putting it that way I actually feel kinda bad for them

but I've also already said that they've also had multiple self-made opportunities to finally pull their weight had they bothered to take them up (World, Verse, Life, Club, alleged 4 year mental health hiatus, now Life 2) and just didn't at least try so that kinda negates it

like don't tell me I very slowly warmed myself up to the idea of them coming back and allegedly wanting to make genuine amends with the community via interacting/catering more and releasing a supposedly better game (after being initially annoyed and distrustful once first finding out they were doing so, mind you, because how many times have both they and I said that now) only to have those previous feelings validated yet again

*sigh*
