"When do you have your final semester, Avneet?" Siddharth asked.
"The next month, probably from the second week," she answered.

"Are you free today?" he asked.
"Yes?" Avneet nodded with affirmation but she was unable to understand the point behind asking her this.

"Eh," Siddharth scrubbed his neck. "I- I just wanted to ask you out."
He shifted his gaze to the floor.
Was he trying to find out what she always admires while staring at the floor? Or was he nervous?

Avneet wondered how she should answer him. Was he really taking her out on a date?
"A-alright," she answered.

He looked up at her and bit his lips.
Why so awkward? He was asking his wife out, not his crush from whom he might get rejected.

"We're are leaving at 5 pm then," He uttered and went out of the room earning a nod from her.

Avneet locked the door and squealed.

"Is he really taking me out on a date! I will be going out on a date, just the way Abhishek Bhaiya and Vaishnavi didi; Reem and Jai goes? Wait, what shall I wear? I have no good churidar. They are all old and barely has any sign of colour in them," Avneet sighed. "Let me call Reem!"

She picked up her phone and called her best friend.

"Hello?" Reem, from the other side greeted.
"Reemie! Listen up, he... he just asked me out!" Avneet gasped.

"Oh," Reem took a breathe. "Wait- What?"

"Yes! Tell me what shall I wear?" Avneet asked.
"Why don't you wear some western dress?" Reem suggested.

"You  know it pretty well that I don't wear such dresses," Avneet sighed.
"But you should try it out, shouldn't you?" Reem wasn't someone who gives up easily.

"But what will be think if I wear a Western dress out of nowhere?" Avneet protested. "I have never worn such dresses."

"So try it this time!" Reem was still not having any plans to give  up.
"Nah, I will wear it some other time," Avneet sounded nervous. "I promise."

"Fine, as long as you are comfortable," Reem said understanding her psychology. It would be uncomfortable for her if she suddenly wears a western dress, and that might ruin her mood.

"Which colour shall I wear?" Avneet asked.
"When will you guys go?" Reem looked at the calendar.

"At 5 pm," Avneet answered.
"WHAT? I thought it's some other day!" Reem panicked. "HURRY! WE DON'T HAVE TIME. Avu, I am sending you a request for video call!"

Avneet accepted the request and after a whole hour, they were finally satisfied with the outfit they finalized.
"Best of luck witch!" Reem smirked. "Use protection. You shouldn't be a mother till you graduate. It will be hectic."

"SHUT UP!" Avneet yelled at her and disconnected the call.
It was around 4 pm, so she dressed up.

After a while, there was a knock in the door. She opened the lock.

"Oh, shit!" Siddharth cursed. "You are looking so beautiful."
Avneet shifted her gaze to the floor and bit her lips.

"Did I say that aloud!" Siddharth mentally scolded himself.
He moved in and wore his outfit. Avneet was done with her hair so she went to Vibha's room.

"Mom, am I looking fine?" She asked.
"I heard someone is going on a date?" Vibha teased her while turning towards her. "OH LORD! you're looking so pretty, my daughter."

"Mom, shall I change my hairstyle, I am not pleased with it," Avneet was insecure even though she got complements.

"Do you want me to beat you up!" Vibha scolded her. "Sit here quietly and I don't want a single movement or change in your look!"

Avneet sat on the bed feeling giddy.
"You're laughing?" Vibha glared.

"You're the best mom!" Avneet got up and hopped to hug her.

"Ay, Silly girl!" Vibha stumbled. "I will fall down and break some bones at this age."

"You're sounding like an oldie!" Avneet chuckled.
"I am much elder than how I look," Vibha made a proud expression. "I look so young because I am so beautiful and flawless."

Avneet giggled.
Siddharth coughed.

"What about you brat?" Vibha looked at Siddharth. "Since when are you admiring you wife as she was chuckling?"

"Mom!" Siddharth whined. "What fun do you get by embarrassing me?"
"It's the truth kid, I ain't teasing," Vibha raised her eyebrow.

"L-lets go," Avneet shuttered.
"Y-yeah!" and so did Siddharth.

"Have fun kids," Vibha chuckled. "Take care of yourselves."
Siddharth and Avneet took blessings from her.

Siddharth had bought a bike. The transportation was tough if you don't own a fuel-run vehicle, especially in a city like Mumbai.
It was only a week since he bought the bike, so he never got the opportunity to offer her a ride.
