Raphael was the very definition of the word complicated. You'd known this almost from the moment you met him.

He had been so standoffish then, and in all honesty, you hadn't liked him very much.

You'd wanted to get along with all the brothers, but unlike Leo, Donnie and Mikey, Raph always made it so difficult.

Anytime you tried to talk to him, he seemed so agitated, almost always answering you with a snarky comment and an eye roll. You really believed that he hated you for some reason.

But then one night, he showed up at your window with a bloody arm, and things changed.

Long story short, if he wouldn't have gotten injured that night, you probably wouldn't be walking to the lair right now with a bag full of dressy clothes slung over your shoulder.

You chuckled at the thought, as you walked through the dark tunnels. It was kind of a weird way to look at it, but was true none the less.

After that night, he'd actually started to drop the defensive attitude he had always had around you, and you both grew closer very quickly. To the point where you were now closer with him than with any of the others.

He was your best friend, whether he'd admit to it or not.

Which is the main reason you liked to irritate the shit out of him.

As soon as you jumped the turnstiles at the entrance of the lair you grinned as you called out,

"RAPHIEEE!!"

Your eyes landed on the back of his head when you looked towards the couch, and even though you couldn't see his face, you knew he probably looked like he wanted to commit murder.

"(Y/n), I swear, if you ever call me that again, I'm gonna kick your ass." He growled, turning around and glaring as you walked up behind him.

You folded your arms on the back of the couch and rested your chin on them as you smiled at him.

"Awe, I missed you too."

He rolled his eyes and turned back around with a, "Yeah, whatever..."

You hopped over the back of the couch and landed next to him, leaning into his line of sight and batting your eyelashes to get him to look at you.

He side glanced at you, seeing your 'sweet' smile and sighed.

"What?"

He said it sounding so bored, but you knew better and just smiled bigger.

"You're still gonna help me right?"

He raised an eyebrow, then looked down at your duffel bag that was resting in your lap.

'Right... That's why you're here...'

Your phone conversation from last night popped back into his mind, and he sighed again.

~~~
He was in his room, laying on his bed feeding Spike a leaf of lettuce, when his phone started going off.
He didn't even have to look to know who it was, but he still smiled a bit when he saw your name at the top of the screen, along with the picture of you making a funny face and holding up a peace sign.
He reached for it and answered as he held the small device to his ear, wiping the smile off of his face before he spoke.
"Hello?"
