Jia's POV
We're back at Manila close to midnight but when we arrived at the condo it seems so quite and I wondered why all the lights are off.
" Mommy tulog na po ata sina Lola, baka po hindi na nila tayo naintay. Medyo late na rin po", I said to my mom while going to turn on the switch.
Surprise!!! Congratulations Jia, you did a great job!!!
I was surprised when I saw Lola and my two other Titas holding a banner,flower and a cake with a dedication letter of congratulations.
" Oh my god, I thought tulog na po kayo", I said to them.
" Pwede ba naman yun, you've passed on PISAY with a highest score, of course we need to celebrate", Tita Patty replied.
" Yah, and finally dalawa na tayong magiging alumni, hindi talaga ako nagkamali na nagmana ka sakin", Tita Jill added.
" Wow, Jillian talaga lang ah, sayo talaga nagmana? Hindi ba pwedeng samin ni Jake. Hello,kami yung magulang", Mommy joined in.
" True, can you imagine the genes Jillian, combination ng dalawang engineering na taga Ateneo at Harvard, mahiya ka naman", Tita Patty added.
"Whatever", Tita Jillian rolled her eyes as she was defeated by the two.
" Tama na yan, we all have the same blood, and it is running in our family kaya wag na kayo magtalo. Anyway, congratulations apo, I'm so proud of you", Lola said as she kissed me in the forehead.
" Thanks po Lola", I replied.
We had small chitchats about how our day went and plans for the next few weeks.
" Lola, alam niyo po ba dinala kami kanina ni Daddy sa isang private beach outside Manila and it was so beautiful, the sceneries are mesmerizing", I said.
"Really, saan naman itong private beach na ito Jake at mukang nag enjoy kayo?", Lola asked.
"2 hours away from Manila lang po Tita, naisip ko po kasi na ipasyal lang po ang mag-ina ko, to spend time with them lang po and create memories", Dad replied which makes Lola smile.
" So tell us more about this private beach, we are interested base on your story Jia" Tita Patty was intrigued.
" When we were there po, I learned some trivia about that beach", I said with a mischievous smile and looked to my parents.
"What trivia?" Tita Jill questioned.
" Yung beach po palang yun ay naging malaking part ng love story nina Mommy and Daddy", I said which makes everyone look at my mom and dad.
" Hay…ok sige ishare na namin yung story behind that beach", everyone listened at my mom.
"When we were in college, we used to hang out there and unwind ourselves. That beach serves as our safe space back then. Kapag naburn out na kami sa school dun kami tumatakbo. We had a secret spot there, where we can just relax and enjoy the company of each other. Pero we go there secretly because it was a private property….", Mommy told the story.
" Wait, you trespassed on that property?", Tita Jill asked.
" Yes, at nung isang beses nahuli na kami ng may ari, akala namin ipapahuli niya kami buti na lang at pinagsabihan niya lang kami", Daddy answered.
" Oh my god, Jessica Marie you did such things when you are in college?", Lola looked at my mom.
" Relax Ma, we were young back then", my mom defended.
" Wait, I'm more interested on the part of your companionship, so how did you accompanied each other there. Is this the place where you did the thing?", Tita Patty asked.
" What thing are you saying Patty?
"Duh, that thing, kung paano nabuo si Jia", Tita Patty said which makes me cover my ears.
" Patty! Talaga bang yan ang gusto mong pag usapan. In case you forget my minor pa dito, naririnig ng pamangkin mo ang malisyoso mong tanong. Ma! si Patty oh", my mom complained.
" Tricia ano bayan! ", Lola scolded Tita Patty.
" What? I'm just asking", Tita Patty replied.
" Of all questions, yan pa ang gusto mong itanong", mommy rolled her eyes.
" Okay,okay fine, I'm just asking lang eh", Tita Patty threw her hands up.
" Anyway, guys I have something to tell pala. So in the next few weeks, before magstart ang pasukan nina Jia, I plan a trip for us", Daddy said.
"Jake, anak I think kayo na lang, alam niyo naman na hindi ako pwedeng umalis ng matagal because of my responsibilities in the office. I hope you understand", Lola replied.
" Same here Kuya, I have duties for the next coming weeks ", Tita Patty said.
" I already have plans with my friends Kuya,gusto ko mang icancel kaso nakapag book na kami ng plane tickets, I'm sorry ", Tita Jill said.
" It's okay everyone, I understand naman how busy you all are and marami namang next time. I'll take this opportunity na lang to spend more time with Aiks and Jia. Actually, my parents in the US wanted to see Jia personally and also they miss you Aiks", Daddy said.
" Really? ang tagal na nga ng huli ko silang nakita", Mommy replied.
"Yun naman pala, so when is your flight?", Lola asked.
" Next week po Tita, I need to settle some work lang po sa office before we fly in the US", Daddy replied.
At the Bedroom
" Are you excited to meet your other Lolo and Lola anak?"Mommy asked me.
" Of course po pero, I'm a bit nervous mommy. What if hindi po nila ako magustuhan or may ibang expectations po sila for me. The fact po na recently lang nila nalaman na nag eexist ako baka hindi po nila ako matanggap", I said.
" Anak, you don't need to overthink, ako na mismo ang magsasabi sayo na tanggap ka nila, actually nung sinabi ko sa kanila na nagkaroon kami ng anak ng mommy mo sobra nilang saya. Matagal ka na nilang gustong makita and they are so excited to spoil their first granddaughter. Kaya you don't have to worry, Ok", Daddy smiled at me.
