Tw: Drugging against will, language.

"Here you go." Nicky handed Karina a hot bowl of soup after taking care of her shoulder wound. "Drink this and it will help."

Karina warily lifted the bowl to her lips but didn't take a sip. "Why are you helping me?"

Nicky didn't reply, hanging his cloak up to dry on a hook on the wall. He smiled kindly at her and tipped the bowl back up to her lips, pouring the liquid into her mouth. "It'll help, I promise."

Karina leaned further back into her chair and took a swallow of the warm soup before coughing. "Thank you for saving me."

"It's what anyone would do," Nicky responded. He sat on a rug and grabbed a bowl of his own. "It's a cold day, even by our standards."

"I know a lot of people that would've left me to die," Karina quietly said. "So thank you for not doing what they would do."

"Anytime, Karina," Nicky warmly said and grabbed a blanket. He put it over her and took the bowl, placing it next to a sink. "Why don't you take a nap? It will do you some good."

Karina felt sluggish and tired. "I really shouldn't..."

"Nonsense. You're safe with me." Nicky placed a hand on her cheek, caressing it softly. "Get some rest, Karina."

Karina forced her eyelids to stay open. "I- When did I tell you my name?"

Nicky shushed her, placing a finger on her lips. "Don't worry about it. Everything's going to be okay."

Karina weakly shoved the blankets away, trying to stand up. "I didn't tell you my name. I- I need to go."

Nicky smiled and stepped back. "Be my guest. I wouldn't want to hold you here against your will."

Karina began to walk to the door, stumbling over her feet as her vision swam and spots danced before her eyes. Nicky patiently watched her go to the door, arms crossed behind his back.

"You don't look good," Nicky observed. "Why don't you sit down?"

Karina put a hand on the wall to support herself. "I-"

Nicky put his hands on her hips to steer her back to her chair. He gently pushed her into it and covered her up with the blanket. "Odd... It seems like I need a higher dosage for next time. I wonder why. You seem strangely resilient to it. Most people are unconscious by now."

"What?" Karina frowned.

"Feel better soon," Nicky sweetly said. "I'll be here when you wake up."

Then everything went dark.

Wolffe was an unhappy man.

He didn't like it when his assignments went sideways. It reflected poorly on him.

"What's wrong, vod?"

Wolffe glanced up from the map he was examining with a heavy sigh. "She's missing. She got kidnapped."

Sinker's jaw dropped. "You had like, one job! To keep her safe! Now the alliance is going to fall through!"

"You think I don't know that?" Wolffe's grip tightened on the projector. "Is there a reason you're bothering me or did you just feel like it?"

Sinker shifted between feet. "I thought you might be lonely. I just wanted to check in on you."

"Cut the bullshit," Wolffe ordered, not falling for it at all. "What do you want?"

Sinker rolled his eyes. "Fine. We're kidnapping you tonight."

Wolffe's hand twitched to his blaster. "You're what?"

"We're gonna all get drunk tonight!" Sinker declared and threw an arm over Wolffe's shoulder. He didn't removed it as he was glared at. "And we're taking you with us!"

"I'm not going drinking tonight," Wolffe firmly said.

"Fine. I won't tell you the important information then," Sinker smugly said, crossing his arms. He thought he had the upper hand.

Wolffe glowered at him. "Tell me right now or I'll make the entire battalion run laps until every single trooper has thrown up. Then I'll make you mop it up yourself."

Sinker rolled his eyes. "Wow. Fine. We're being reassigned."

"What about my mission?" Wolffe protested. "What about her? She's just going to stay missing?"

Sinker shrugged. "We leave in a week. They decided they wanted to join the Seppies."

Wolffe's lip curled in disgust. "Of course they did."

"If you're not drinking with us tonight I'm going to find someone else to watch us. We need to have one person who stays sober..." Sinker moved to exit, but Wolffe held up a hand.

"Fine," Wolffe bit out. "But you're doing training tomorrow, and if you're hungover that's not my problem."

"Thanks for the warning!" Sinker cheerfully said before skipping away.

Wolffe faced the map again.

A week.

He had a week to find her.
