17. Smothered

Karter's POV
I put in my AirPods as I sit at my vanity. "... and then he brought me these beautiful flowers and I just had to give him the biggest kiss." I laugh at my mom as she tells me about what her and dad did for Valentine's Day. "Awe I love that for you guys." "Thank you baby. And he even cooked me some short ribs and it was so tender. When he makes them again I'll invite you and Dave over." I finish my eyebrows then start putting on some blush. "We will definitely come over for some of that!" She laughs and we talk for a few more minutes. "Okay baby, I'll talk to you later I'm gonna get started on lunch." We say our goodbyes and she hangs up the phone.

I put on my lipgloss and look at myself in the mirror. I get up then take off my robe and put on a green singlet and some sweats. I go into the close and slip on my vans then grab my bag and my phone.

I go into the living room and refill Khloe's dispensers as I wait for Kam. After about 15 minutes, I hear a knock on the door and I look through the peephole to see Kam. I open the door for him and I give him a hug. "Thank you for comin with me, Dave is down in New York seein Chanel. He don't come back til tonight." He nods his head as I lock the door behind us. As we're walking to his car he says. "It's all good, you know you my bestie. I gotta come through when you need me." I laugh as he opens the door for me and I get in. He goes around and does the same and we make our way to the doctor.

He pulls into the parking lot and we find parking right by the entrance. He backs into the spot then turns off the car and we get out. We walk into the hospital and I go to the receptionist. I greet her and giver her my information. She tells me where to go then we head towards the elevator. When we get to the 4th floor we get off and head over to room 415. I give the man my name and he tells me the doctor will call me soon.

After waiting about 10 minutes the doctor comes out and calls my name. "Karter Santiago." We stand up and walk to her. "We only allow spouses in the back." I look over to her and say this is my boyfriend." She nods her head and lets us in. "My apologies." She takes us to room 3 and we sit down when we get inside. She hands me a cup and I go to the bathroom and pee then give her back the container. After a minute or two, Dr. Shantell come in. "Hi Kay!" She pulls me into a hug then pulls away. "Hey girl, as soon as I seen your name I grabbed your folder." We talk for a bit while she signs into the computer.

"So they said you were here with your boyfriend, but this definitely not Dave." She side eyes him  and he chuckles and leans back. "Girl this my bestfriend Kameron, Kam this is Shantell." She nods her head then waves at him. "I was about to say." We laugh and then she starts asking me the usual questions she asks during a check up. She types in her the information then looks over at me. "Okay girl so what did you come in for today?" "I came to get my birth control shot." She nods her head as she types in her computer. "Okay, I just put the order in so let me go grab it."

After a while Kam asks. "Am I gonna need to step out for this?" I shake my head and laugh. "The shot goes in my arm Kam." He puts his hands up and leans back against the couch. "I ain't even been here for this before so ion know what to expect." We both start laughing then a few minutes later Shantell comes back in. "So before we can give you a renewal of your birth control we always have to do a pregnancy test. And you're came back positive." I look at her and my mouth drops. Kam leans forward and says. "Positive?" She nods her head then types in her computer and shows me the results. It says 'POSITIVE' in big black words. I sit back and look at Kam.
